Rung is revealed to be Primus sans memories in the IDW comics, and is able to make Matrices. He was reading his serial number as 100000000 when it was actually 000000001, the very first.

It would be funny if they don't reach the goal and this becomes the 4th Prototype only Unicron figure.

Finally saw how huge the backpack is and what a mess the legs are. That is awful. I have my doubts that the figure will be able to stand on its own. It's just an origami folding nightmare. Why can't the parts fold up inside anything? It is definitely the biggest shellformer ever. Can Metroplex keep the title of "Biggest EVER"?
I was starting to crack and was working on a way to get enough cash to get one, but the new pictures brought me back to my senses. I would be ok with it for half the price, but for that much, it needs to actually transform some more.

Edit: IDW Rung = IDW Primus aka the the first of the 13 Primes. Meh. I like the Cybertron planet sized Primus instead. :lol

I live in Asia. The airport staff is pretty different from what a westerner is used to. I would trust them with my expensive toy no problem.

Why not both? Rung as a physical avatar of the actual Primus.

Can you imaging the shipping cost if the cardboard box was the size of that case. And it was boxed exactly like that !!
Also makes me think how good it would look with a pullout window box that's already got integrated leds,
Kinda like the Takara Collections figures boxes but with a little more contemporary additions. Coloured background like the movie scene where you first see him from TFTM. That would be cool.
Man, so need to get this guy just to display it in planet mode if anything.

I'm sure there's fishing wire out there strong enough to hold this sucker up !! I need to make it look like he's really elevated !!

I mean.... it’s a pretty good canon. Just saying.

And the hardcover books keep coming. It’s amazing!

The shell is very big. I think maybe part of it may be actually hidden into the legs and the back, but there is too much of it for the figure to not have visible kibble.
They probably could have engineered a very complex transformation scheme where the planetary shell is double faced and folds inside out to form the bot more, but other than making the figure even more expensive, I wonder if would have been solid enough.

If people aren't planning on Backing for various reasons, that's awesome and all, and I even enjoy the counter points as to why etc.
Emotions on the subject are valid. However, Wishing it to outright fail, or hoping it doesn't make the goal of 8000 backers just to watch people get upset because you think it's hilarious or hysterical and you just want a quick laugh at other's expense, is just plain fucked up and outright dickish and rude to do. Seriously. Is that even necessary? Why be such a Douche about it? Are you really that unhappy in life you wish anything positive and historic to actually Fail? I just can't fathom the mindset of some people.

There are Those of us who actually ARE backing it, We're doing so because we actually believe in the project and hope for it's success. We actually want the Figure. etc. And tons who aren't backing it are even in love with the idea of this toy's existence and appreciate the thought of it's existence and would totally back it if there was more time to do so.

Anyway, it boils down to this:

"If you've gone nothing constructive to contribute to the overall discussion, why even bother posting in this thread."?

Yeah, among other reasons. Idk. I've just never been able to process why people thrive on the misfortune or unhappiness of others so much.

I've seen people who wish for this project to fail because they want a cheaper titan Unicron instead and think this one is going to kill any chance of getting it. But what if it's actually the opposite, and this figure being successfully funded proves to Hasbro that Unicron is popular enough to deserve a new mass released toy?

If Hasbro needed this to be funded to prove that frickin' Unicron is a popular enough character then they are idiots.
