It won't. Only two days in and Unicron's crowdfunding has already made 15% of the target.

Grand Maximus needed 2,000 orders to be produced. 3,000 to include the pretender shell. He met the 2,000 minimum but not 3,000. Greatshot didn't need a minimum amount of orders to be produced.

I don’t see mold on this figure prototype if fans want to support this bad enough they will if you fans think about it add up all transformers you buy in one year it’s over 1000 dollars I guarantee you and some of transformer toys you buy are 300 to 400 buy 400 toy plus shipping and handling that’s 440 , 450. All together no matter what online retailer you buy from what is most expensive master piece toy you have bought that toy is 100 to 200 dollars less what price of this Unicron toy is going for

Yes that is true and if people on these sites will spend 100 to 300 in two months buy transformers in stores and pay more on line stores with shipping handling included your half way there buy this toy

What you fans don’t realize if you don’t buy toys in few months you can afford buy this figure if you want something bad enough you will save enough to get it tfcon how much are tickets to get in 50 to 60 ? And money for passport to gross boarder in Canada every year that is over 100 dollars plus adding prices to buying stuff at tfcon that’s 200 dollars and more not going to tfcon and not buying toys few months fans can afford buy this if they really want to

Really have you seen prices at big bad toy store for some master piece figured some of them are almost 500 master piece version 3 prime at bbts is 449 add shipping and handling and tax that is almost 500 you ask normal adult who know nothing about bbts they tell you same darn thing if you tell people how much you spend on transformers toys all year it will add up buy thins unircron figure and more toys it really depends how bad you want it.

If I can save 1400 for comic con and to meet tony Todd at comic con you people can save up buy this toy if you really want it no one should be complaining about price of this toy when you fans spend over 1000 on toys and comics and tickets at tfcon you can buy this toy if you want it bad enough

This is such a cool figure however for crowd funding something thats 564.99 is way to much, if the figure was around $300 I would do it, but since this figure isn\'t due to be released till 2021 (if it passes the crowd funding support) I maybe be able to get if I have a few job promotions till then

That’s the diehards and people swarming to the page because of its presence on news sites

Give it a week and a half, and we’ll see if preorders are being taken at the same rate. I guarantee they won’t be

Dude, first of all, punctuation helps a ton.

MP-44 is about $320 at Japanese retail and just a hair more now at Amazon Japan. They ship to the US. Anyone who buys Takara MPs from American retailers should be aware that they will pass on any import fees to their consumers.

With regard to your second point, I’ve seen that argument tossed around a lot. Thing is, you could spend $400 or so collecting all the Siege figures released to date so far. That’s a LOT of figures, plural. This is $626 after tax. For ONE figure. Bigger than a Titan, sure, but you can’t say with a straight face that it looks like $400+ worth of extra product was put into Unicron, judging from that video alone.

$300 is far more reasonable. Even $400 I’d consider. $626 after tax? Hasbro is out of its goddamn mind.

He weighs nineteen pounds. They've gotta make him hollow in some places or use the joints are going to have a hell of a time holding the figure up. Hell, part of the expense may very well be in the durability this guy's gonna need to support himself.

Gabriel was $280. Planet X Genesis was $340. Planet X Apocalypse $345. Terminus Gigantus was $350. Pandinus was $450.

The only thing I don't have is measurements in terms of height and weight.

He previously had a white unpainted joint in his mane right on his forehead. It's painted gold in the new picture to match the rest of his mane.

And Takara Tomy Mall does not ship outside of Japan.

Edit: If I am not mistaken...

    Ebay:
With the first HasLab project, Jabba's Sail Barge, overseas buyers initially couldn't get one, Hasbro and a third-party vendor worked out a deal towards the end of the campaign to make it possible for that vendor to offer it to their buyers, ultimately inflating the campaign from a near-miss of 4,000 to its goal and beyond. Even getting it to 4,000 was a chore, ultimately promising an exclusive package on a new figure thrown in to sweeten the deal.

My guess is that Hasbro has worked this out with TakaraTomy Mall in advance, that those presales will count against the campaign. That is probably what helped Hasbro decide on the 8,000 buyers at $575, as a $4,600,000 campaign is nothing to sneeze at. Otherwise, it devalues the efforts the North America backers are asked to go to when they have to take the risk so that other markets can reap the rewards. IGN's quote from Hasbro suggests the latter, however, which seems like a misstep as it depresses initial backer interest.

ETA: cannot back up claim, retracting it.

That said, I still think letting North American backers take all the risk only for other countries to reap the rewards is a bit deflating to backers.

The problem if they do that is that they will open themselves up to public backlash from backers that felt lied to over the “exclusivity” of their investment and could destroy their credibility for future projects.
Not to mention they can very well put themselves at risk of a class action lawsuit for false advertisement and investment fraud.

Source? I would like to know where you are getting this info from. The sailbarges offered for overseas buyers was independent of the crowdfunding and offered through ebay by hasbro themselves.

You sound silly, most crowd funded items get a rush towarda the end of their window. This will be no different. Sailbarge doubled its numbers in the last week of its window. This will probably get to the 50% to 60% mark with about 2 weeks left and then shoot past its minimum with a few days left. I saw a thousand people spend way more than this on botcon trips and sets.

It’s a $600+ figure after tax. Saying the idea of it failing being silly is...well...silly.

    We shall see...

I would imagine a special thanks and something more for the backers if this does get made, not just as a way of saying it may see public release, but that they put money and got something a standard relase might not ever be able to get, though I haven\'t a damned idea what it could be apart from a special plaque and a certificate showing they got the crowdfunded one

That's stupid. Toys aren't investments. They aren't advertised or guaranteed to increase in value in any way.

TT Mall exclusive? Depending on pricing this might grab my interest. Although mainline figures tend to be more expensive through Takara than Hasbro, in my experience.

I actually hope they do include something saying that if we get one it will be a crowdfunded copy
