I'm hoping that it will be superior in build quality to that of the other Titans.

I'm fully supporting this crowdfund but I firmly believe that this project could make or break whatever trust Hasbro has with the TF toy collector community.

This Unicron is expensive, there's no way getting around it. If it's going to be simply an oversized toy equivalent of a retail market Titan toy then it's going to create a rift that I don't think Hasbro and its HasLab platform can recover from. With such a high cost, this Unicron should have quality control that allows nothing basic like missing parts or duplicate hands/feet/fingers/toes/etc. to be present in any of the produced units.

Additionally, the design choices, not only in engineering but also of material quality, should not have compromises. A 19 pound, 27" tall, transforming, articulated toy has to be able to withstand manipulation as far as basic handling and posing as well as repeated transformations/conversions.

There's also deco. No paint or tampo errors(smudges, missing applications, off target applications, etc.).

I know that I'm asking for the impossible by stating "no this" or "no that" but this Unicron toy WILL set a precedent, be it good or bad. It's up to the team working on this at Hasbro. If they pull off this Unicron project properly, it'll pave the way for Hasbro to use HasLab as a highly refined, fan market focused, revenue option. If they fumble this project, then they're basically going to bury themselves because if they ever want to tread into crowdfunding waters again with several hundred dollar projects, all people will remember is how they screwed up Unicron, no matter how enticing future TF HasLab offerings could be.

Guessing you're either a Premium member of HasLab or you had some kind of discount code?

Here's my actual receipt from there:

1170 backers in two days. Not bad but since they got about 1000 of those in day one, we've certainly slowed a bit.

Wow, you paid as much as I did and I live in California! It's that city tax that's killing you.

And backed. Came to $614 shipped. It’s Unicron in true legends scale. How can you NOT buy this?

Yeah you’re getting hit with a city tax, not two states. Not applicable to all areas.

Exactly. I'll be getting my designated "fun money" paycheck in early August, I had no idea I was going to be buying a Titan+ Unicron. Very exciting times :D

Soooo sorry Quietus, you can wait ;)

Actually if you're shipping it to Canada, they're charging an additional $60 USD to do so... So yea about $100 CAD. ;)

    Dear Hasbro,

Stick a "FansProject" sticker on the box. People will not only stop bitching about the price but might even pay a couple hundred more.

    Thank you.

    Sincerely,

Fans paying attention to the fandom.

I was given a $30 option for FedEx, the only shipping option I had as a Canadian making the purchase. Still extra but could be worse.

Okay, okay... I think I can say something we can all agree on.

At least MAAS Toys isn't involved.

It was only a week or two longer than this, and it was a total surprise when it dropped - we didn't have any foreknowledge of HasLab being a thing.

You'll be able to go in and change address. They send you an email before they do all the shipping, to make sure your shipping info is up to date.

In regards to moving and shipping, what do they do about sales tax? I live in a high sales tax area now, but will most likely have moved to a different state right around when it ships. Do you get a refund on the tax difference, or just another way to get screwed?

Ouch, that's odd. I'm on the East Coast. I would think it shouldn't be significantly more costly to ship to QC.

Without looking it up, let’s see if my grad school paid off: You’re a consumer at the time of purchase (August 2019), so you won’t be paying more tax or getting a refund when you move.
