Is the Wei Jang version playable for an 8 year old? I bought my son the NBK Devy and he hates it because it’s a floppy mess. I’d hate to make the same mistake with Predaking.

It's way more stable than NBK figures. Individually, they're like bricks (not that they have bad articulation, just very sturdy). Pretty strong ratchets throughout in combined mode.

 

Well, the transformation is pretty simple, nice and tight joints throughout (except maybe the combiner shoulder and divebomb's wings), the individual robot modes are okay, the beast modes are pretty much crap, but the combined mode won my wallet over.

I believe the feet are the exact same one with the sword-less box set, they just removed the tip of the cannon toe to make him fit inside the box.

Or maybe I overestimated them and they actually simplified the feet.

 

So put simply, this is the boxset (which were originally sold individually as 1:1 KOs) plus the sword?

So like, my Headstrong and Tantrum arrived two days before I’m supposed to get the other three. And their heads aren’t attached. It also doesn’t look super easy to attach them. Is this normal?

A screwdriver solved that problem, but can anyone tell me what these are for? They were in the bag with Headstrong.

 

Rampage's Predaking shoulder ratchet is weak. That's the replacement.

 

It's actually for Divebomb.

 

It can work for either, my Divebomb ratchet is fine but the one for Rampage was janked so I swapped that one.

 

Ok. So 1 more time because I’m confused even though I’ve been trying to follow along.

WJ is just 1:1 which I want. Sword isn’t a deal breaker and even though I’d like a box set I’d rather just save money.

Now. There is a second boxed set, by WJ but under a different name, that is actually the same size but just in a smaller box so is NOT undersized, correct?
It also has the different feet without the cannon receded? Also comes out next year?

I know. I know. I’m sorry. I’ve read the posts but I need some clarification. I want to know exactly what I’m getting before I order it. God I wish we had ko stores so i could see things in hand.

Both versions are under Wei Jiang. Both are 1:1, except that the Luba version (bigger box due to layout and sword) will be coming out in 2020. The current one available right now is Wei Jiang's Model Wizard (smaller box due to layout, and does not come with sword). A separate combiner sword set will be sold outside of the box set.
