Nah. "Unsubscribe all DC." Wally is my favorite character, and my continuing to read DC was contingent on the ending of this series. DC just chased me away like they did with New52. And this time I may not give them another chance.

DC Announces New Batman Project From Warren Ellis, Bryan Hitch

The Authority's Warren Ellis and Bryan Hitch will team up once more for The Batman's Grave, a 12-issue maxiseries focusing on the Caped Crusader and releasing this fall.

Inked by Kevin Nowlan, the series will follow an iteration of Bruce Wayne/Batman who obsessively identifies with those who have been murdered, and "immerses himself in their lives and obsesses over every detail of their deaths." The story itself sees him looking into the victim of a particularly grisly murder and employing his aforementioned intense methodology.

"Cut off nose to spite face."

Wally will be fine after a little time passes. People (and DC) will forget about and ignore the mess they made here like they did with previous debacles like Cry For Justice. Yeah, you forgot about that one, didn't you? So did everyone else, and it doesn't matter now.

I have to agree. I'm pretty much done with modern DC comics at this point. I'm just going to get my fix by reading the loads of Silver and Bronze Age Omnibuses I've been enjoying so much more than anything written this decade with the occassional modern story like Johns' Green Lantern run.

....When is Tom King off Batman?
Today's issue he went for shock value and it went into disbelief territory.
It took me a little bit before I figured out it was in continuity.........unfortunately.

I found Batman #75 the issue that made me interested in reading Batman again. #61 - #74 didn't really offer much content, but this issue does set the scene of Gotham quite nicely. I do have a few questions, but I'm excited to see how Batman and Catwoman both plan to return to Gotham and defeat Bane. The art was pretty good as well...except maybe the Joker. Something looks off (it could be the nose and chin).

And even when Batman and Catwoman are reunited after a while, I found it slightly amusing that they both were still arguing whether they met on the boat or in the street.

It's getting harder and harder to defend King. I try to tell people he's written some fantastic comics... Vision... Mister Miracle... Sheriff of Babylon... but the bad Batman stuff is piling up to such a point that it completely overpowers the conversation. Never mind Heroes in Crisis.

I remember after Phantom Menace came out, one reviewer wondered if George Lucas was a fantastic writer/director who just had one unfortunate misstep with Phantom Menace, or if he was actually a terrible storyteller who just happened to get accidentally and outlandishly lucky on New Hope. At the time of Phantom Menace, it seemed a ridiculous question to me. Obviously, it was the former. But over time and two more movies, my opinion reluctantly but inexorably shifted to the latter. Tom King is kind of like that. Anything great he's done is getting absolutely buried under mountains of garbage.

Oh great, a new superhero series written by the guy with contempt for superheroes.

    I seriously doubt it.

I'll check it out, but there's zero doubt in my mind that when everything is over, I will like Dark Knight Rises more of the two. Much more.

No, she's not. But DC persists in using and marketing her in that way. To younger readers, even. :dunce

Because what better possible role model could there be for a young girl than a brutal and unrepentant murderer with battered wife syndrome?

To be fair, very few superheroes, or super villains in this case, can really be a “role model.” Base on the picture provided, we’re telling people a burglar who managed to “woo” a billionaire into being a romantic love interest, and a woman who has a psycho brother and who is constantly being targeted by her mentor’s villains while also creating enemies of her own.

Event Leviathan Jumps From 6 to 7 Issues?

The solicitations for the hard cover says it collects Issues #1 - 7.

I'm enjoying it so far, so I don't mind an extra issue. Hopefully though I don't regret my statement.
