Better example: why everybody got pissed off when at the end of Man of Steel, Superman snaps Zod's neck. That is just NOT a thing Superman is ever supposed to do, because it's against who Superman is as a character.

It's not about G1, it's about what exactly constitutes a heroic character. After all, one of TLK's biggest problems is that 'Nemesis Prime' isn't exactly all that evil because literally the only evil thing he does that's remarkably different from his usual behavior? Try to kill Bumblebee. That's it.

You can have a Prime that's not entirely on the up-and-up, case in point: Armada Prime. At the end, it's revealed that Optimus is in fact such a warmonger and legitamately enjoys war to the point it not only shocks Megatron, but it's the sole thing keeping Unicron alive. But at no point does Armada Prime scream out how he's going to murder everyone, rip off their faces, and generally do shit that would be textbook Decepticon behavior in literally any other version of Transformers.

I grew up with the UT and like it more than Bayverse and G1. And I like Bayverse more than G1 at this point there is nothing wrong with different interpterion of characters in different universes.

    Ever?

Look I don't want to be that guy that calls out on every little thing but to say 'ever' is only starching the surface of things.

What about in Superman II then?

What about the panel in Superman Vol.22 when he exposes the green kryptonite against Zod and his followers?

Or other instances like in the Injustice series where he killed off a child like Billy Batson?

I'm not saying you're wrong with Superman killing people goes against his code. But to say it's completely 'out of character' is a huge hyperbole when Superman only has to kill when he needs to make the hardest decisions. If Superman acts like the kid from Brighburn; acting only on pure evil instinct. Then sure.

Back on the situation with Optimus, I agree (Don't call me TLK lover prematurely, I'm not). His transition to Nemesis Prime was poorly handled. But again... Optimus isn't the kind of guy who is a maniac like the Joker killing his followers. Only if they're his enemies, does the aggression show. Which is why I guess he was threatening friends like Cade when he was Nemesis (Oh snap... Please don't attack me on this).

Again, YOU ARE FREE to say if you had issues regarding the portrayal of Optimus post-ROTF. You're not in wrong;your points need to be stronger.

Depends on how this thread went in the first place and whoever started it.

My feelings with DOTM are just okay. Could you see it as a finale? Sure. So could a lot of movies in other franchises.

Here's the thing, okay? Every movie back in the 2000's had to be a trilogy
regardless of whether or not that decision made any sense and (not to get off topic here but)
You know who We have to thank for that? Peter freaking Jackson
LotR was a planned trilogy and every other franchise HAD to emulate
even when only one or two movies would've sufficed.
Terminator did just fine without the third one
Spider-Man would still been okay without the third one
The Matrix would've been okay as a one-and-done movie
same with BAYFORMERS (bomp bomp baaaaah)
and now You're seeing similar with the whole
    "everything-has-to-be-a-universe-because-MARVEL" thing
and how's that working out for ya, Transformers.
I see the sequels as being a fine lesson in being careful what You ask for
because what You get might not be what You want.

Yeah, imo there are few franchises that are set up to universe build like Marvel and DC.

I fucking hate this movie with a passion. Everything that was wrong about ROTF was turned up to a million. Everyone acts like ROTF and TLK were horrible, but I'm sorry this movie takes the fucking cake.

    This.

I remember when seeing Ironhide's death for the first time, really disturbed me for a bit. The music during the final battle was top notch. Shame it all went downhill after that. I now pretend that AOE and TLK didn't exist because those two movie are just abysmal.
