Well Hasbro sure is shooting off their big guns before SDCC!
Man, did not expect this. I guess it is the... 35th anniversary of TFs, yeah, and 2021 would be the movie's 35th anniversary.
I love the mold, it sure shifts most of the planet shell parts on the back of the legs and the mouth on the robot back, but let's be honest, how else can it be done? The only thing I dislike is the shoulder-spikes just hanging there like a coat-rack. But the rest is amazing. Great sculpt, exactly like the movie, opening mouth, so many finger digits, replaceable eyes for movie battle damage, and I bet more small goodies will be revealed like a Quintesson ship to poke his eyes out with.
The price is high when compared to Titan Class, but this thing is more comparable to that "masterpiece" Omega (Terminus Giganticus) in size, and that thing costs 600$ and yet weighs only 5 kilos. Heck a MP gestalts doesn't cost much more. Or Marvel Hot Toys stuff that costs the same.
I have a Hasbropulse account and can ship to a friend... but getting this to Hungary.... that will be costly

It will be around $820 AUD for us Aussie which is extremely way too expensive, especially buying a figure in one go and not have the option to pay it portion by portion.

Very nice-looking and impressive. Would've gotten it at Titan scale but this is too much and too big. Not sure why they felt they had to go EVEN bigger. Titans are big enough. It's not like scale is a factor anyway. Unless they release some tiny Trypticons, Metroplexes, etc... to scale with this guy. Maybe a bite-sized Galvatron. Nom nom nom.

Takara is definitely going to release this somehow. Will it be crowdfunded? Will it even be a limited release at all? Once Unicron gets funded, Hastak will have the mold, and they’ll be able to do whatever they want with it. There absolutely will be a Takara release of this guy, and the form that said release takes could mean that Unicron won’t be as limited as we think. It might even hurt the resale value.

What do you get that even beyond what people can afford, this "definitive" Unicron will keep new good Unicron toys from being made. Meaning, if this gets funded it's this expensive Unicron or nothing. And the details in that post also place into perspective what you can do, which other people might not have considered at the time of buying or should consider before buying.

I don't think it's a valid comparison to take a set of figures with a total of 11-13 different modes between all of the components (assuming it's not like Piranacon with targetmaster modes, or has scramble city functionality) and compare the value to a single toy with one robot mode and one alternative mode.

Honestly, the price for the size is understandable, I just don't see a reason to spend that much on a figure who's 90% shell former. I like transformers that are fun to transform. Looks pretty though.
I guess this rules out a Primus/Unicron Titan any time soon too.

It’s also way more complex than a Titan. Metroplex sits down. Fort max lays down and does the splits. Trypticon lays down and also does the splits while folding his legs out. This bastards transformation and part count looks insane.

I know I’m simplifying the previous titans but they are not complex toys whatsoever. This guy however looks pretty complex

Stupid this isn't opened up for collectors around the world. Especially considering, how much bigger transformers are elsewhere.

Molds alone cost many thousands. That said, not sure if millions-- even given the cost of manufacturing, development, etc.-- is justifiable and represents anything other than pure profit for Hasbro. It used to be companies took a risk on their own products and they ate the costs if something faltered. Today the entire risk is put back on the buyer. At least for items funded through Haslab. However, if you want this figure you'll put all of these considerations aside and 'just do it'. The recent funding of Super 7's Snake Mountain or last years Haslab Sail Barge proves that fans have the disposable income, regardless of what the naysayers may rail on about. IMHO it's just a matter of how soon this item funds. Not if... when.

If you have to break down the cost of this to grown adults than they have bigger problems than just buying an expensive toy.
