Impressive. Might just have to go in on this. I am sure it will get funded. Don’t know why hasbro just doesn’t release him. It’s not like they don’t have the money. Have they not seen how far collectors and third parties have gone and how expensive it has become. Most third party collectors will jump on this

I’ll be paying around $315 for MP-44 Optimus at most, depending on where the exchange rate is at when he comes out. If I ordered Unicron, he’d end up being around $625 after tax. That’s roughly double the price of MP-44, which I certainly wouldn’t call “almost as much”.

Well, this is a niche product, and you're not giving Hasbro a $4.6 million, interest free loan, you're only giving them a slightly less than $600 interest free loan. Not NOTHING, but FAR from $4.6 million.

To be fair, though, the USS Flagg wasn't nearly as engineered as this piece appears to be. Clearly there were design and manufacturing costs, but the Flagg didn't then also transform into a 2ft+ robot that's designed to look as closely like it's onscreen counterpart as possible.

Now, at this price, I would expect a USS Flagg that came with plane(s) big enough to fit on the elevators and be taken below deck.

I will be joining you shortly.

As someone who backed the barge, I think this needs repeating. This will not be available on Hasbro Pulse after the cut off date. There is no buying this after the cut off unless you want to pay secondary market. If it’s funded, those people who backed it, get it and that’s it. The sail barge can go for typically double, so keep that in mind.

I feel like all of the people saying it's more alike an MP toy in engineering level will be disappointed once they see he's a shell former with barely hidden shells.

I’m in. Sorry, as a transformers fan this is my Jabba the Hut Barge. I’ve known the name Unicorn since I was a kid and seeing this is astonishing. Its going to be the one unique collectible I keep until I’m old, right there with Soul of Chogokin Voltron and some future Optimus Prime figure. I can get the shock at the price and yea it’s plastic but this is a real deal collectible in a sense that Metroplex or FortMax never was. 3rd party would struggle to make the same for under 1000. Hats of to Hasbro for murdering the mic.

I hasbro pulse allowed reasonable payment plans for this guy I would totally be down. This is a grail toy for me, but I don't think I can conjure up $600 by the end of next month on a cheap ass grad-student budget.

Yep. Not gonna lie, I'm considering ordering the max of 5 just for aftermarket sales.

For that $$$ it better have an Orson Welles voice box, shoot beams of light from its planet-mouth, and radiate red lines that proceed you on your way to oblivion.

For people balking at the price and comparing this to Metroplex, Metroplex has a shipping weight (so that includes his packaging) of 8.15 pounds according to Amazon. This thing weighs 19 pounds and is doing a lot more in terms of parts count. I'm not arguing that he's "worth it", because that is a subjective issue, but there is clearly a lot more toy here than was present in the Titans. That's not taking into account that Hasbro knows this is going to have limited appeal at any price, so they have to assume that this is a single run item, just like the barge. Plus, yea, they're going to want to make money. They are not doing this as a favor to fans.

if its like the barge, I would say its worth getting. I ordered the barge, then found out I didnt have room...no problem, put it on ebay and got almost twice what I spent.

    I'll pass . I'll regret it, but I'll pass .
Robot mode has just too much influence from the 80's comics (those teeth ... yeeesh ...) to be of that much interest . Plus it's too big for me .
Plus -- and I don't know if this was mis-transformed or not -- but showing the "planet mode horns" on the back was just a bit too much of a 'wink-wink nudge-nudge' to the Armada Unicron, who's main anti-G1 complaint was those giant horns in his shoulders .

To those who buy it , I hope you'll be happy with yours, and I'll admit it , the planet mode is quite tempting ... , but that's simply not enough .
It will surely make a nice center piece in a collection .
As for me, I've been happy for years with the Botcon/Hard Hero statue of him .

It's a thing of pure beauty. I just cannot afford it.
I'll start saving now for Primus, should Unicron meet its backing quota.

    Man, this guy is awesome.

If you have the means to buy this piece, buy it. I own a barge from last year, it was $550 total and while Hasbro did release a limited number to those in Europe, the barge has not been offer for sale at retail again. There were those who bought several barges for resale and some retailers resold them for about $1,300, plus shipping and sold out within a day. This piece at $600, will probably go up to $1,500 on the secondary market next year. I personally do not buy for resale or care about the price increase, but would suggest that those that want this piece, buy now or either pay more then double next year, or never own one

People who aren’t used to the level of collectibles the Star Wars community is wont understand the concept. This is a one and done deal..that Barge is insanely pricey to get now. It’s much closer to SOC Voltron. Heck even more exclusive because once Hasbro is done they ain’t making it again.
