I'm unfortunately going to have to pass mostly because of the prices.
I also feel like for almost 600 bucks, there should be no panels hanging off him at all.
    Like a clean kibbleless transformation.

I really want to buy this guy but who knows. I’ll probably freak out last minute. Anyways, I will admit his backpack looks a little chunky. I’d like to see it first.

If this is just a little bigger than Fort Max & Fort Max was around $160 WHY does this cost so much more??? I don't believe it needs to be that much. I would say $300 on the high end. I could do $300 but not $600.

    I'd rather have Primus/Cybertron anyway.

A battlemaster would definitely fit into that mouth.

So, went and did some math and if I saved up all my free money right up till the deadline... I\'d have only just under half the money I\'d need.  sigh

I agree with everyone saying not to forget Masterpiece Optimus Prime costs almost as much. I've always dreamed of owning a truly massive Unicron, seeing this as a possibility has me hopeful. Currently at 340+ backers, and I'm one of them!!

The sculpt looks amazing, but I\'m a little disappointed that it almost entirely shell-forms. and that the wings can\'t spread because 2 of them are connected at the bottom instead of the top.
Why does all the kibble hang off the back and legs? I\'d rather fold up that back kibble into the torso. The equator spikes are on rubber strips that hang off the back kibble and the base of the connector for the wings. Woof.
If they were going to hide the leg details on all sides but the front, why not integrate the kibble into at least 2 of the sides? I just don\'t get this. The only alt mode parts used in robot mode are the wings/ring and the movie-accurate forearms in the back.
I wonder if it would be too unstable if the kibble were integrated into the torso and lower legs.

What\'s the shipping rate to the USA? and are you getting taxes?
I have a feeling even if there are no savings, the fact that it\'s shipped to Canada by FedEx will mean that there will be an insane additional fee on top that at least doubles the taxes.
I thought it would be 1K after exchange rate, but it\'s \"only\" $850 {unless FedEx has surprise fees}. I wonder what the maximum \"customs handling charges\" from FedEx can be.

As for the price, just looking at it it seems closer to an MP level toy than a mainline level toy. The details and articulation exceed anything I’ve seen on non MP at this size. I haven’t backed yet but I likely will. The two year loan thing is irritating though.

Not worth that price tag at all. Does look amazing, no question, but no way in hell is that worth 600 bucks.

I am definitely of the camp that has craved a more realistic, better scaled Unicron for years, and although this doesn\'t look perfect, the very fact that this is (probably) happening seems to good to be true and I will happily throw that inordinate amount of money at it.  Yeah, it\'s pricey, but it\'s not like your collecting a whole line of them, it\'s a one-off thing, it\'ll make you smile every time you see it, and there\'s no more appropriate character for it than Unicron.  I am SO IN.

This is one of those figures where if you pass on it now, it will be near impossible to get in the future at a decent price and I am assuming that it will fetch $1000 easy as he is already $625 with tax.

Better scrap up what you can and sell some of your beloved figures that you can easily get later on. I didn't hesitate to preorder one and I may grab a 2nd one when it gets near the end of deadline if I sell some more of my stuff.

It has some articulated hands, but other than that the articulation seems about standard. That's assuming you can get the 20 pound unit to stand upright to hold a pose, too.

I do that all the time. I only recently (in the last few years) figured out that Unicron was saying "Your bargaining posture is highly dubious." Always heard "You're (as in 'you are') bargaining mumble mumble highly dubious," and just couldn't figure out what he was trying to say.

[Edit] Actually, now that I think about it, I don't think I understood the "highly dubious" part before either. Just "You're bargaining mumble mumble mumble..."

Yes but you are assuming I only collect Transformers. I have Hot Toys, Sentinel Figures, chogokins etc all showing up in August. Terminus and Prime were both half the cost of this Unicron at around $350, and I had MONTHS to budget.

Congratulations on excusing one ridiculously overprized figure with another one. Don't forget that part. The new MP Prime is also a figure that costs far more than a toy should and has been justly criticized for that reason.
