I think I would actually prefer a version closer to this. The design they are going with seems too busy. For that price. the shell should fold up inside the legs.

It is pretty. I'll probably go back and forth a bit but end up getting it.

This looks amazing. No way I can afford it, I likely dont have the room for it, I probably can't back it anyway as I'm in the UKa and even if I could and did it would likely cause me to start a dangerous new legends collection.

    It is bloody beautiful though.

Minimum 8k, not limited to 8k.

That's exactly the purpose of HasLab. The "shallow pockets of the many" is what they do at retail.

I would absolutely love to back this project, but $600 in a month is something I can't do responsibly.
Hope this finds its way to Hasbro pulse or something if it gets funded.

Not that Im getting it, cause I don\'t have 580 bucks to spare thats like a paycheck and a half for me. But I\'m not sure if that it\'s safe to spend that on a Hasbro made figure. Their QC is generally garbage, 9 times out of ten if ive got a set limbs that\'s supposed to be ratcheted only one has the ratchet or is so weak it mindswell not be there, same applies to a set of tabs (Looking at you POTP Grimlock). My Fort Max can\'t hold his own weight and half his ratchets didn\'t work correctly out of the box. I don\'t trust paying almost 600 for something from Hasbro

To afford this, I think I’d have to donate blood for a year. Like, three times per week.

Actually why do you assume we don't? This character is from a movie that came out when now 40-somethings were 10 and 11. There's no mistake at all that most of the expensive MP line (and by extension this monstrosity) are targeted at those of us with a little more income to buy ridiculous things. And not all of us are so socially inept that we're still virgins... maybe that's just me?

If this was $250, maaaaaaaaaybe at most $300, I might be able to consider getting this. As it is, I have too little cash and too many things to purchase, so I'll have to pass on it, unfortunately. I might hunt down the old Unicron Trilogy versions at some point.

So the stars/calendar/pay periods/whatever have aligned in such a way that I will have a paycheck with absolutely no demands on it in a week. No bills due. Nothing. So I can actually afford this easily. It's almost as if it were meant to be.

But fuck. that. Don't get me wrong, it looks spectacular and I got excited looking at the pictures, but $600 on a toy is just too damned much. There are so many better things to spend that kind of money on. I could get two+ months ahead on car payments or student loans. I could cut my remaining credit card debt in half (if only I had the willpower to be that responsible). I could buy three of the four MP dinobots I'm missing. I could complete my S1 MP ark crew, even at the aftermarket prices some of those figures are going for, and have money left over to buy other figures as well. I could buy a better 3d printer to replace the crappy one I'm using now or I could be halfway to an even better 3d printer that does multi-material. I could buy a VR headset (Beat Saber is calling to me) and that's actually what I'll probably do with that paycheck.

I recall seeing an article on a comedy site years ago that talked about the levels of porn addiction and some of the levels were pretty ridiculous but the absolute highest level was "have ever paid money for it." I feel like this guy is that for toy collecting - "have paid $600 for a single toy."

I mean the vast majority of posts don't really contribute anything. And, while he may have overstated it, worrying about a QC issue on such a big investment isn't exactly unjustified.

For that price, it had better have a much higher parts count than an MP.

This! So much this! There are so many other things you can spend $600 on.

The one that comes with XTB's Eligos (Cyclonus) should work nicely. He'll be a little big compared to the scene in the movie but should fit easily between Unicron's finger and thumb to dangle over his mouth. The fact that I have that Galvatron actually made me a little tempted to spring for this guy just so I could recreate that scene, but $600 is still just too damned much.

Very much agreed. I hope it doesn't succeed because toy prices are already going insane and I don't want Hasbro to get the idea that they can just keep ratcheting up the costs. Also...

That's my hope as well. But maybe if it does succeed, someone will do a KO. I know that's heresy to say in the official board and I'm sure it would seriously piss off the people who back this for $600, but if someone were to do even a mediocre KO for under $300, I'd probably buy it.

Too bad this isn’t open for people outside the USA, cuz if it was open for the Asian markets (China, Japan, Hong Kong) I don’t think there would be any issue in getting the required amount of backers. With this being just USA it deeply worries me. Cuz Star Wars is a larger stamp on pop culture than transformers is so that’s one point for how the khantanna got the required amount of backers, plus it only need 5000.

The deadline is August? How the hell can they expect people to budget for that this quick?

I’d understand a December deadline or something like that, but August is way too soon

I'm honestly curious to see if it makes the 8,000 threshold. That's a LARGE number. Easily several times the number for BotCon exclusives, for example. This probably has more appeal that even popular BotCon toys, but... well, let's just say I don't think I would drop this much money on this toy even if I felt that I could (and since I definitely can't, I won't waste time worrying about it), but I'm still curious to see if enough folks feel otherwise.

Definitely out of my budget but it’s really cool to see this guy be made. Hopefully I can see it in person one day.
