It's not just height, though, it's width too. And he's a bit tubby, coming in at 19 lbs. of plastic.

    So Hasbro is crowdfunding?
...I can understand that for some larger-than-wallet figures like Unicron.
    But please don't crowd-fund a Defcon. I want him mass-produced and under $100 please!!! :)

    Hey, it's The Mask! :)

Matrix, I'd rather pay 600 for an epic transformable Unicron, than 200$ for non-Transforming Not-Even-Action-Masters Statues.

Once again, WFC is doing EVERYTHING I ever wanted in a toy line.

A full on, super accurate, toddler sized Unicron with only a few panels on his legs as extra kibble? No one remotely considered Hasbro would go there. I don't think many of us thought it was possible! I'm not surprised at all they want some dedicated buy-in.

I can't spend that kind of money anymore. Hell; technically I never could. The few times I came close I fudged it with payments.

Not sure. I think the Transformers community is just not use to this. To me, this is a HUGE opportunity, in all aspects.

Very true. But with Hasbro's known reputation with QC, I think I'd have to err on the side of caution and pass completely. My Armada Unicron will have to suffice on my shelf.

Back to the money side, the only way I could possibly even think of getting him is if Haslab offered a $100 a month payment plan instead of all up front payment.

Their bargaining posture is highly dubious, but very well

Wow...this was totally out of left field. Everyone is talking Skorponok, not an updated Unicron! I did Jabba's Barge as a Star Wars collector and it was so worth it, so this will be a no-brainer. Awesome update in the Siege styling. Think of it this way - if people are coughing up $450+ for MP-44, this is not a big leap.

Well, I guess I am getting a raise soon...honestly I expected him to be bigger given the price, but I guess the complexity must be something crazy.

This needs crowdfunding because this Unicron is entirely marketed towards us, the adult collector. They are gauging interest they need to make a profit off of this. They are not selling this to kids (ideally) people complaining about the crowdfunding are missing the point on this, if we speak up on this THEN Hasbro might listen to the collectors more about our side of the market. But whatever people are just gonna buy the nTh set of Stunticons from X 3rd party and say hasblow doesn’t care

I took it as a joke about how Hasbro often has some QC flaw they miss, ala Siege Starscream's chest. People are going to be disappointed and some are going to be pissed at Hasbro asking for three and a half times the cost of a normal titan. I don't begrudge anyone who wants and can afford to buy it, but I do think a Titan version would've been a better idea in the long run.

    Trash talking Hasbro = bad.
Trash talking the entire board for not kissing Hasbro's butt = Okay?

I'm looking at it this way.

Yes I've stopped collecting, but this is Hasbro's first Transformer crowdfund, and I'm willing to put an order in if I can, just to do my part to see it succeed, and to hopefully help ensure that other TF crowdfunds will be made in the future.

I showed my wife the video. She says I have to buy it and that she's jealous that girls' toys never had anything like that.

This looks awesome. Do not get me wrong. I am very impressed. Eight year old me who watched Transformers The Movie for the first time after a cancelled swim lesson on a dark summer day is squealing inside

But that price? I can get a mostly decent guitar for that price; half of a very solid guitar. I can get a good combo amplifier or a great amplifier head for that price. That price is half my rent and almost 2 car payments. It’s more than a game console. It’s almost what my smartphone costs.

$300? I’d bite. Even $400 I’d bite. Almost $600? Nuh uh. Their bargaining posture is highly dubious, even for the adult collector market. Too much.

Even if I do cave, there better not be one goddamn hollow space on that toy that isn’t used for head or hand storage.
