    Nice work Chris! Doubleheader was always one of those weird figures that totally fitted into the pretender microcosm

    Interesting...

    Brainstorm is just fantastic whatever flavour he comes in

    20190714_233815.jpg 20190714_233815.jpg Hi

    I have a collection of around 90 various transformers from big ones to tiny ones, some are broken, some missing parts others in good condition. I also have loads of manuals.
    Trying to find out a rough value I should be getting for them.

    Thanks

    @Brooticus,
    Congrats!

    @Lothar Hex,
    Hang in there, hope you can find something else soon!

    I have the following for sale,

    MMC Vos (Never transformed, barely reposed, complete with all packaging and accessories £35 shipped within the UK.)

    MMC Kaon (Never transformed, complete with all packaging and accessories £50 shipped within the UK.)

    MMC Nickel & The Pet ( Pet hasn't been transformed, Nickel has been transformed once and won't be transformed again as the process was so annoying. Haven't removed most of the accessories from the packaging, which is all complete. £85 shipped within the UK.)

    Thanks man, this is kind of how I expect it to go, and funny you should advise enjoying the TF's I have as I was looking forward to doing exactly just that.

    @dee' & @bcm77 , thanks!

    I found that after an initial pause of a few weeks, because we were then sleeping in separate bedrooms for various reasons, I collected more as an escape, and played with them once everyone else was in bed. But I think a bit of caring less about TFs and a bit of general lack of interest due to tiredness/fatherhood meant the hobby dwindled for me. TFN last year was fun but I still wasn't feeling it, I was more interested in drinking with people I've known for years. Now and then I'll look at a TF figure but overall I've put far more time, energy and money into guitar equipment as I feel I get more tangible results/enjoyment from that? But that's probably an individual circumstance anyway.

    The most important thing really is having the kids.

    Amazing news! Congratulations to you and the other half!

    Our minicon is three months old, and yeah certainly less time for transformers. Which is no bad thing. I have an urge to clear some older figures out, but I've not had much of a chance to list them.

    My spending slowed down a fair bit, but I kinda lucked out in that I was given some back pay and a bonus in work at the end of May which gave me a little spending wiggle room, so I was able to treat myself and the wife a bit.

    Morning all!

    Spent Saturday at the Durham Miners Gala, like the pinko commie scum that I am. Saw yer Corbyn, who was fine (other than singing the praises of John Prescott, which creeped me out). Then just spent the rest of the weekend listening to disco and clicking refresh on the news page. After Catz's Titan/Commander/Leader teases (confirmation in a "couple of days" from Thursday, I'm told) I'm bloody jonesing for some sweet WfC news! And then I can look forward to more maddening debates about the fucking scale chart. HUZZAH!

    Congrats dude!
    And that's all I can offer, as I've had my lads done.

    Start your week the DJD way!

    I find it hard to take Elita Infin1te seriously because (well, because that name for one) it was less of a combiner team and more a case of Hasbro promoting the play pattern with whatever limb-bots were literally on shop shelves at the time. Much like Superion with Drag Strip in Combiner Wars. And Orthia basically exists to replace Elita Infin1te with a 'proper' team.

    I mean, I have three custom combiners on display right now, and they're some of my favouritest babies in the world - Elita-1 with Rook, Moonracer, Alpha Bravo and Tote (CW Ironhide with a new head); Toxitron with Dreadwind, Darkwing, Shakedown (CW Blast-Off with Toyhax stickers) and Offroad; Flame (CW Scattershot with Toyhax stickers) with Drag Strip, Wreck-Gar, Firestar and Ricochet*. They all look amazing and are fun to mix and match - as you rightly say, the play pattern*

    The problem with the Torchbearers and their Decepticon repaints is that by being boxset only they discourage the Scramble City play pattern, so you're left with female combiners that only ever combine with each other (this is my criticism with Unite Warriors as well, by the way). And outside of these remoulds the only female combiner limbs all share the same body type. It's a little restrictive considering how the number of limb moulds always have been, as 'female' becomes a 'type'. So you have Jet, 4x4, Race Car, Sports Car (x3), APC, Shuttle, Bike, Helicopter, Tank, Flying Creature, Bipedal Creature, Quadrupedal creature and... girl. It's the old gender problem that Transformers, and 'boys toys' franchises in general, have struggled with since forever - that 'girl' is seen as their entire character.

    All that said, this isn't a criticism of Orthia, nor of the Moonracer mould. My only concerns are that a) Hasbro has not invested enough effort in diversifying the body types and moulds of the female autobots (both with and without capital letters there) and that b) Hasbro are too quick to group female characters together and not mix and match.

    Oh and one last thing regarding your custom prime masters - do you sand down those Lego weapon handles so they fit?

    An interesting selection, but it's hard to judge what you have there with so many of them missing accessories or being mixed up. Looks like you have a couple of tubs of bits and pieces, so I'd recommend spending some quality time partnering the pieces up. The difference in value between a complete and incomplete toy can sometimes be huge. For example I notice you have Armada Supercon Optimus Prime in there, but his smokestacks have got lost (this is easily done, believe me), as well as his minicon partner. While this toy is hardly all that rare, the difference in having a complete one and an incomplete one can be the difference between selling for pence and selling for pounds (you might have trouble shifting an incomplete Supercon Prime at all).

    Or at the higher end of the scale, you have an Energon Omega Supreme. The most crucial part to go missing here is his headmaster partner, and this can severely impact the value if it's not present. Match them up, and you have a far more desirable item on your hands. Get the missiles in there too, and it's even better. Same goes for Unicron, though I get the feeling that the large planet shell pieces and wings are not hiding in those small plastic boxes...

    So yeah, I'd recommend you spend some solid time with tfu.info to find out what goes with what. It might seem a little daunting if the toys are not yours and unfamiliar, but it's worth it in the long run if you're looking to make some money back from these. In particular the site has a great function for identifying unknown toys by colour and alt mode, and their individual pages show what pieces they came with, as well as what they should look like in each mode. Good luck!

    Congrats, @Brooticus & Missus!
    On official Lego gear, yes, as they upped their 3mm to 3.1mm to mess with 3P Lego, so sometimes the odd 3P unofficial will fit but they've mostly caught on now so it's rarer I don't have to sand/shave of late.
    Cyberverse (or at least Beast Hunters I don't have any prior legends to test their gear), NuDiaclone Mech Suit scale 3mm peg gear, and Repro.Man's Inner Robot weapons from the '89 Pretenders are also options that don't tend to require modding however bear in mind that there can be great toleration variation between examples of Decoy Suit fists, due to discovering that Nonnef didn't do any weapon upgrades for them.
    Tiny Turbo Changers weapons might also work but I've never gotten my mitts on them to try out (they only come in that one 3-pack IIRC).

    Do you like robots that transform?
    Do you like realistic alt modes?
    Do you like bishoujo girls?

    If you've answered yes to all 3, you're probably @tikgnat . I've just come across this insane PSP game, that looks like they just used you for the focus group and ran with it

    Drive Girls! (it does have an English language release but I wanted a picture with the cars)

    I'm not sure what the grey car is (first on the left), it looks like a Lexus IS but that seems an odd choice. The rest look like an RX7, Evo, GTR and WRX
