Yeah, that one. Either the rocket launcher is in his armpit, or his arm from the elbow down is somewhere it shouldn't be. I realize the artist was between a rock and a hard place trying to make an illustration of a brick of a toy doing a dynamic pose, but the weird way it ended up is all I can see. Thank you
I've got this added to my SDCC exclusives list to get!! The art could be better but I love the selections they picked for the montage.
It's listed as $55, though. They aren't selling Astro Magnum Shockwave at SDCC, either. It will be displayed at Hasbro TF displays though.
The geometric design theory applied to this is insanely good. The asymmetrical title placement is particularly brilliant. As a designer myself, this is the kind of stuff I look for whilst being impressed haha. Whoever did this - bravo! Ah, now seeing that Cesar Moreno is the artist.
Not going to SDCC but I'll pay aftermarket for this piece if necessary. If you don't own a Mondo print, you have no idea what you're missing. They hire some amazingly talented artists to reimagine iconic images or design new artwork for a variety of pop culture franchises. If you're unfamiliar, I highly recommend googling what Mondo has done for Batman: The Animated Series.
