Just in case you didn't already know, that was 69 CAN, so these should be closer to 50 USD.

 

I was thinking the same thing since G1 Prime is now also on clearance discount, but I don't know... any Soundwave that's G1 ish tends to FLY off shelves and becomes impossible to find. At least it used to, anyway. I remember that happening with the Commemorative Edition and then the Hasbro Masterpiece - damn things became big foot with its sightings. That's why I'm too scared to sit & wait on this (and the cassette packs).

 

I'll probably keep mine sealed, and hope to get him for less than $50.

wow $50 usd. my local walmart’s are filled to the brim with $50 g1 Optimus. who do they think will be buying these for that price?? ugh.
can’t you get an original SW for $50 on ebay? granted that’s not new condition but still...

Optimus was supposed to hit $35 clearance at Walmart starting last week. It’s up to the department managers to do the price changes, and between them being jerked around to different parts of the store by upper management and some not having good work ethic, it could be a slow process. When i checked, toy department had over 800 price changes to be done. Optimus was on a 4 week price drop “plan” with final clearance price being $13 if any make it that far. I’d say when they hit $25 a lot of them will disappear. I think $13 was for week 29, and today started week 25. Some have already been spotted at $13 which was what led me to check things out, and to see why my store still had them at $50.

Hope this little bit of insider information helps with the hunt for a cheaper Optimus. Now I’m going to have to check the system Monday to see if we have any Soundwaves on hand! Excited!
