'Transformers EVO' by JAM Project fuckin' slaps and is the greatest opening of any TF series ever. White Lion's theme from the '86 movie is also rad.
I like the Beast Wars opening and it's been tattooed on my brain since '98, but compared to other 90's cartoon themes, well, it's no Swat Kats or Mummies Alive.

Also, the season 3 version of the G1 cartoon theme is waaay better than the season 1 version.

 

I used to be obsessed with Masterforce's main theme when I discovered the Japanese exclusives G1 series, and Damn it, I'll still jam with the Zone theme once in a while.

 

G1, '86 Movie, BW, and Victory are probably my favorites.

 

Do video games count? Because I love the theme songs for Both Fall Of Cybertron and Devastation

Transformers Victory all variations of the G1 opening, particularly the TFTM and TFA versions, and maybe BW are my top picks. Everything from the early 2000's is somewhere in the middle for nostalgia reasons. Haven't liked Prime's or anything else since.

 

How can anyone not love this.

Despise:
Energon has the most tryhard,laziest and most terrible transformers intro theme I’ve ever listened to. Seriously it sounds like the singers are trying way to hard to make it sound awesome.

 

I thought this was going to be about narrative themes within the stories that we like/dislike.  

Like, I’ve grown tired of the whole “Transformers helped direct the course of human development over thousands of years and have been a part of every major event in human history.” That can stop.

But as far as theme songs- it’s hard to top Lion’s rendition of the classic theme song in my book. I listen to it at random just cuz I like it. Can’t say that about the others.

Also love the Beast Machines one. Just kinda cool, kinda techno, kinda chill, and they’re not yelling “BEAST WARS!!!” every two seconds like the BW theme.

Armada is also good. Lots of energy with that one.

Alot of people are going to say g1. But any song that stops and explains things is bad.

I think beastwars and beastmechine are the only "acceptable" songs. Not because their good. More because there generic.

I know I missed a lot, (more then I thought) so I had to go and look up a vid. Most of it is a rehash of the original theme. Out of all Hasbro's toytoon properties, TF is consistently the only one to mix bland and annoying elements in most of their intros. MLP, GI Joe, JatH, Moondreamers and M.A.S.K are mostly pleasant and catchy, Pound Puppies was so-so.

I like TF Cyberverse best for not annoying or boring me and having a semi-catchy tune.

I dislike the 3rd season of G1 most because its very jarring and the trans trans trans part goes on way too long.
