    This...Absolutely

I’m glad to see others who understand the value this unexpected set has.

And that included Scramble City comic that sold for $80.00 last week, I’m sure you (Gangu Stars) are referring to the one sold at bidding on yahoo auction Japan; I was that close to bid on it to win it!

I regretted it at first, wondering when I’ll find another one for sale, if ever.. It was the first time I saw that vintage book. Glad I didn’t bid on it; this was only days before reading news on this crowd funding set.

As for the S.T.A.R.S. Kit, pin & card, it’s personally my favorite part of this set. I actually own a G1 unused & mint kit, with original mailer box set, as well as the card & pin. The card itself cost me $100.00 at bidding on yahoo, and double that amount for the unused complete w/mailer box kit.

I was torn over unsealing the parts of the kit and assembling it, which I wanted to do, but now that I can get a reissued kit I’m so glad I kept my G1 kit unused.

This 35th Ann. just keeps getting better. What a great time to be a Japanese TF collector.

Given this is a pretty mediocre re-colour of a toy that has been available as a $20 KO for decades, nailed to a block of wood with a bunch of printed paper and cardboard, I predict there will be a KO version of this within 6 months of release.
And probably around the same time, there will be another KO that actually does full gold chrome instead of that weird brown coloured paint.

KO companies were able to give us proper, fully chromed versions of both MP-10 and MP-36 ( I know because I have both and they are 98% gold chromed, only the inner pieces of the joints are raw plastic). Of course a properly gold chromed one wouldn't necessarily be the nostalgia fix this is trying to be (as exploitative as that is - charging a heap of money for a dirt-cheap re-release of a decade's old mould that is only rare because Takara deliberately kept it rare... at least until now)

If Japanese fans are really that heavily into this stuff, and willing to pay for it, more fool them. And of course, it sucks for the rest of us because it's just more fuel for the fire of Takara overcharging for products and customers rewarding them for it.

Isn't the entire monetary value and worth of those things due to their scarcity? This isn't a decades old MISB ultra-rare collector's item. It's a cheap modern reprinting and re-release of it. It will cost Takara maybe $10 per unit to produce all of this, possibly even less.
And depending on how many they produce, it will have almost zero scarcity or rarity value. Only if they do decide to produce it in very limited quantities, and then any so-called rarity value is completely a result of them deliverately manipulating the market to justify their high price, instead of any true scarcity.

A genuine, MISB G1 Megatron from 1984 has a rarity value due to its age, origin and it's very nature. A2019 re-issue of the same item would not.

    Edit: Perfect Example:
'Star Wars' Original Stormtrooper Helmet to Be Auctioned for $90,000
    vs
    https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Stormtrooper-Electronic-Exclusive/dp/B01D1GR1B0
    $90,000 vs $75

Dumb question time: Will this "book" or whatever it is ever be available to buy by itself, or likely to just be a special pack in thing as mentioned in the blurb?
I want the book /materials and have no interest in the toy.

I'm totally with you on the KO front. They DO do better Chrome figures. Also, not all Japanese fans are really that interested in this set. Here's one of my Japanese TF chum's opinion. PicsArt_1562935622373.png

There is some great discussion around Japan/US/original club collectors.

But are there any other examples of actual transforming Transformers released which were adhered to a pedestal (or a similar secondary object) which is restraining it from completely transforming?

Side note, I wish it was a surfboard:

I was also wondering this. Even if it's actually "Shockwave," he does talk...

Even worse is that Shockwave in Japan is Laserwave, so Sharkwave really has no meaning.

OK guys, hear me out on this one.

Sharkwave - Shark - Shaa-Ku - Kinda sounds like how Americans pronounce 'Shock' - Shockwave.
    We found the link.
