The leg vents are definitely painted (as indicated in the tweet). I can't tell if the window is a sticker or not.

I wish they’d release some of these model kits as Kuro Kara Kuri versions, like a reverse of their Drift. These designs are cool enough to deserve premium materials.

    Now that’d be great.
Oh that’d be killer. And also if they were in a show.

My very first model kit. I love that you can pose Bee just like the artwork on the box!

Enjoying this more than my 3A DLX Bee tbh... looking forward to building more!

And is there a model kit appreciation thread?

I'm sure the Gunpla guys will appreciate a bunch of shots of Transformers kits.
Just like we appreciate Gundam photos in the MP Appreciation thread.
    :p

Nah, it's fine. There's some Flame Toys posts in there already. And occasionally some model cars and junk, too.

Serious, had difficulty finding a Furai thread that was active. Ended up posting a build series of photos on the MPM thread as it had my two other Bees in it.

Between the build, the articulation, and the fun photos, definitely got my money’s worth.

Does anyone know what the deal with the IDW Nemisis Prime kit is?

I hear it’s a SDCC exclusive? Was it out at another previous con?

I've been working on the furai Optimus model kit and it seems pretty solid! I can't wait to have the whole thing assembled.
Btw, has Flame Toys posted anything on their Hound model since last year? It's the other kit I've been really looking forward to (I love hound!)

Not a word. I’ve even asked about it to Flame Toys directly, although they may just be busy. Most likely it’s just an old design and if the do him it’s gotta be redesigned.

Is the build quality of the releases from Starscream onwards leagues better than the initial Optimus Attack Mode?

If so, I might just get the IDW one then.

It’s much better as it’s a much more durable and softer plastic. The first Optimus was kinda brittle. Although I’m not.

Thanks, I wonder if the Shattered Glass version fixed anything.

By the way, was Attack Mode 100% abs plastic and then the later ones switched to PS? It seems like everyone prefers the enhanced KPS over ABS nowadays in the Gunpla world.

I wonder that as well. If so I’d be tempted just to buy a Shattered Glass one and paint it.

I’m not sure on the specifics but I watched a review on the Starscream that said it was different. I didn’t hear anything about KPS or a general relation to a Gunpla though.

Stock seems to harder to find now and they are reissuing every few months. IDW Optimus really did turn the tide for them. Model kits are easy to reissue anyway.

I don't really expect any remoulds like a Cliffjumper with a new head as their runners aren't designed to have switches. Straight repaints seems to be it.

Is there any easy way to go about painting the sticker colours? I am planning to get a gundam marker airbrush.

I am still waiting to see if Revoltech with go beyond a potential Megatron before I start this line. But if Flame Toys expands the line and gives me at least one obscure Seeker repaint like Acidstorm and then maybe a Soundwave and Ironhide, then I will bite.

At the moment, I am still on the side lines having lost some faith in Maketoys. I think they will come back but I have my eyes on Flame Toys as a potential alternative to fulfill my need for sexy transformers.

Honestly it could be cool if they made a grey based seeker figure people could customise to make into their own seeker needed.
