I enjoy smoking a good cigar once in a while. I've traveled to many places in the world except for Jamaica, which I am going in 2 weeks. I am a cigar fan, I've had Cuban, European and Dominican Republic cigars. But for the life of me, I've never had Jamaican cigar, has anybody smoked Jamaican cigars? Are they good? Thanks
I love smoking cigars when I have the time and the summer isn't filled with mosquitoes. Never had a Jamaican one there. Can't hurt to try, I would. If you don't like it, I'm sure you'll find DomReps or even Cubans there.
I've been to Jamaica 3 times and I think the cigars there are pretty good. But I'm no aficinado. I buy them at the gift shop at the resort and pay like $5 for them. I prefer the little skinny ones as well. They go good with some dark rum. Damn now I want to go again!
That's funny but actually what you're talking about is illegal in Jamaica, but it's tolerated for locals. You're probably fine on the resort. Anymore, if that's what you're after you make a much shorter trip here on the mainland. Here in Washington we're swimming in it. In fact when we go to Jamaica I joke that I've left a place where it's perfectly legal to go to a place where it's not. We've been to sandals a couple times and they're very upfront about drug use not being permitted, but it's pretty lax if you're not blatant about it.
Joke buzz kill, brah. Actually, you can get a script for it (I really wanted to go to that tourist farm) and if on the rare chance you're caught it's just like a slight fine. But your sandals experience was slightly different from mine. I was doing it on the street and were a bunch of tourist. Also openly at the resort in open areas. I couldn't escape people trying to get me some.
Would find out where the closest cigar shop is from a local, then go from there. The shop owner will respect your exquisite taste and guide you the way.
