I just got a call from the Gamestop in Clarksville Indiana where i preordered my Ectotron, he’s in now I can pick him up. If anybody else panicked & paid the markup after he sold out that first day on Pulse during Toyfair here in the states.

 

OK. The matter has finally been resolved, but it was a pain. First, let's review the timeline:

To this, we can add the following:

• July 1st - GameStop sends me a "How did we serve you?" survey via e-mail. I complete it, including the timeline above (edited to fit the allotted maximum number of characters)
• July 5th - My toy arrives. By now, the charge is finalized at full price, so I decide I need to call them again. This is a fairly long and contentious call, because both the CS rep and the manager I eventually get believe (at first) that I am asking for a price match on a regular order, as opposed to a pre-order. They want to tell me that, since I didn't ask for the refund on the day I placed the order, they can't price match. Eventually, something I say breaks through, and they realize that I'm actually talking about a pre-order (a term I used consistently throughout the process both in e-mail and the phone), they acknowledge that I've given them "correct information" (their words) throughout, and they had not yet given the correct response (close to their actual words). They promise to refund my credit card $13.00 (which covers the price difference and most of the tax applicable to that difference... I'm not going to fuss at this point).
• July 9th - A refund for $13.00 appears, post-dated to July 5th.

One more thing. THIS is how my box arrived. I mentioned this on the phone as well, but I wasn't interested in restitution on this count. At that point, it was just additional fuel to get the original pre-order policy observed.

I got lucky and found one on the shelf at one my nearby gamestops with an average box.

Just got mine in today! Haven't had a chance to get em open yet and I'm heading to a wine festival tomorrow so there's a good chance I won't get to mess with him until tomorrow evening. I almost don't wanna open it. Ha!

 

Probably been asked.. But what scale is Ectrotron? Would a Ecto-1a model kit be able to upgrade him for GB2?

 

I just received my order from Hasbro Pulse. A question to all of those buying via gamestop - your tech panels bi linqual or quad lingual? I suspect i just received one based for EU sales in 4 languages? If there is a bilingual version, that means least 2 package variants..

Just got my Ectotron today. Haven't checked him out yet. I will when I'm on break later at work.

 

My box was folded downwards completely (the big section that says Transformers up on top). The packager must have thought that it would fit better in the mailing box... >,<
