No, I call that getting into trouble. The successful part was them combining into a gigantic robot, and defeating the monsters at the end.

You know, like Power Rangers does.

Exactly, they still got together at the end, and killed the monsters in a giant robot. Seems fairly successful to me.

They've got giant robots on their resumes, why do they need to be successful in high school, now?

And, again, they are teenagers with attitudes. They are supposed to be teenagers who get into trouble. Not follow every rule by the book, like they do in the original show.

Again, seems to be doing a much better job here, with this movie. Good job Alpha.

I’d probably have been better disposed towards the characters had they still (nearly) all been martial artists but it seems outside of Kobra Kai, traditional martial arts are now uncool.

Yeah, they could have similar fight choreographies based in some current movies.

I liked our characters here but the sequel would have been actionised anyway, so I guess it doesn't make any difference.

I don't think the actors were that bad IMO.

Sad we aren’t getting a sequel, but interested to see what Hasbro do

    They weren’t bad at all.

Not surprised in the slightest myself. Now, Hasbro, if you can make at least three of the principals martial artists and not make the Megazord look like a pile of shit that would motivate me to go and see your version.

While I did like this version of Power Rangers. Surprisingly better than I thought I would, I do think it is best that Hasbro reestablishes the franchise the way they want to, without being grounded in the previous film. So, I think it is best to just make a new Power Rangers film with nothing to do with the last one. So, to me, they made the best decision.

And please make suit/Zord designs that people actually want toys of...

I don't know if they focus grouped or tested the previous movie designs but if they did I just can't imagine a overwhelmingly positive reception.

Great news. Lets hope they get a director that understands that can make it into a big budget movie that understands what made the original so great and not try and “ground” everything like the previous one.

Can't say I'm surprised here. I enjoyed the film and I like all the actors (script lacking in some areas really isn't an actors fault), but considering Hasbro is going to want to start fresh and not be beholden to what has come before this seems like the best course for them. Now... if the suits, Zords and monsters are done in a way that doesn't overstylize them... I think my biggest complaints from the last film will be handled.

I feel the underperformance, bombing of the 2017 film at the box-office, was a factor as to why Saban sold the franchise to Hasbro, or was Saban already planning to sell the franchise to Hasbro even before the 2017 film came out?
