Good point. I’d imagine this is for the unformed older collector or the younger more Beast Wars type fan. Or also the fan who hasn’t gotten the chance to ever read these old books but know what the deal is. Point being it’s an older demographic.

You don't give kids much credit do you?   My 2 boys along with their friends use a variety of wikis for pretty much all their info when looking up stuff (whether game / cartoon / comic related).

Yeah I'm sure a lot of that has to do with "getting stuff out the door", so mistakes will get made. Even when we we're fansubbing, we'd go back to double-check on stuff, and then realize, "whoops, now how did we miss that?" Sometimes you can have all the time and the world, and mistakes will still come out in the final version.

I imagine it might be a tad risque, but I can't imagine it's actually as bad as the stuff I've seen living in this glorious perverted country for all these years.

 

You're thinking of literally one guy who acted like that, the rest of the complaints were just from normies. (And the complaints were fair, since most people really don't get all tingly from seeing robots show off their naughty bits.) The threads also had to be cleaned up because people can't just accept or hear that counter-point and let it go, and instead have to whine back to defend "mah comicz!"

Ditto. I just kept saving the comics and reading the tfwiki summaries and nuts to the haters 

 

I think the really twisted stuff is the stuff we haven’t seen yet on the wiki. Which is more horror than perverse.

 

IMHO, they're ok. For me, it's a great piece of nostalgia. You can read some fan subs here and decide for yourself.

Now that I've FINALLY had a chance to see Kiss Players, I gotta say, it sure is a lot of fuss over nothing.

The only "objectionable" thing that stood out to me was Megatron's dick tongue, which is clearly an homage to the tentacles used to get around censors in Japanese porn.

Most of it was just cutesy/girly stuff. I think there was just as much or even more "titillating" stuff in the old Code-approved Marvel books from the 80s. I mean, even as a kid, I realized that the Charlotte/Skids car wash scene was essentially a sex scene. And Circuit Breaker was pretty much naked.

Like I said before, maybe I've just lived in Japan too long, but I think anyone that feels this book or the Legends comics are "obscene" is a real prude.

 

Right yeah. It’s pretty fine. Also I never thought that scene in Marvel with Skids was implying that. Interesting.
