i cannot imagine how Hasbro wouldn't make full cases of this guy available to online retailers. (or even a three-pack down the line)

Posted this question a while back, but it got buried:

Can you flip up the spaceship-cockpit on the center bot in camera mode to form a convincing viewfinder? Or on the side to form a flash?

 

You can flip it up, but the panel it folds out of no longer sits flush and also the cockpit doesn't sit high enough above the body of the camera to look like anything. Not worth it in my opinion.

 

Got lucky today. Went out for lunch and on the way home stopped by Target. Found Brunt, a Refracktor, both micrmaster sets and targetmasters. Got them. Went for a drive tonight and found two more Refracktors. Got camera mode now. Really love it. Good heft to it, looks good. Other alt mode is meh. But glad i got all three. Cancelled my preorder from BBTS. preordered Omega because i won't find him in stores.

 

Got this guy yesterday from Hasbro Pulse.

It was a bit fiddly to get Refraktor into camera mode, but once you got everything in just the right place everything stuck together as it should (before that everything would just shatter). It's a decent and weighty camera.

One thing I feel disappointed about is the small closed lens piece is inexplicably a 4mm peg and goes into separate 4mm peg holes. I don't know why they couldn't stick with the standard 5mm posts/holes like the guns as this limits where you can put them.

 

the folded cube mode makes me want a blurr repaint of this guy.

 

Got my 3 camera bros yesterday. They are wonderful! Having lots of fun messing around with them. I tried that combined ship mode going around but it's kinda fiddly, so I did my own version. It uses the same pegs, but it feels more solid since the 2 bots on the sides are in cube mode. Putting the guns underneath nicely fills in some space, too.

 

I am annoyed. My walmart finally got wave 3 deluxes and someone already absconded with every Refraktor they had.

Curses! Vexation and befuddlement!

 

Every time I consider getting this, it makes me go "why not spend half the money and get a 3p one?"

Like it looks fine but.... Not a lot of bang for the buck.

And they still had all the Brunts and Red Alerts from that case. Someone bee-lined right for them. Before I could. The NERVE.

 

I feel you. I'm not liking "toy hunting". I don't like driving around town in traffic, only to return home with disappointment and frustration. I pre-ordered a 3-pack of Refraktor form Ages 3+, maybe they'll send it someday.

I’m going to wait until fall to see if these guys become regularly available or in a gift set. Otherwise I don’t feel like toy hunting for this set. Hasbro needs to step up distribution.

 

Completely skipping Refraktor since im probably never gonna find him with everyone buying them all anyway. Its ok. Hes always been a genericon anyway.

 

I think you will be able to get him but it will be likely a few more weeks or months. Even Walmart online hiked his price. I’m depending on Amazon or Target to come through.
