Beserk is the one Im waiting for, not going to stress myself over what they decide to and not to release and when.

Probably won't pick up this version of Quietus though.

 

I believe this would have been better separating new figures (Thomas, Berserk, etc) from repaints/reissues. Unless you have a specific need for a missed figure than everyone would want the new figures over reissues. Repaints are purely random from person to person.

If we go with the assumption that said release slot is a reissue/repaint already, the only ones I would want ahead of Quietus in a good purple color are G2 repaints of Swoop, Sludge, and combiners, though I've personally PM'd Dalianjj about those and have been told they are not happening anyway (unless FT decides to change their mind in the future) so by default a good purple Quietus is my most wanted repaint from FT. Second place would probably be a toy deco Reflector, but even with their few repaints FT has never made mold changes (like would be needed to give Reflector toy based chests) so I can't put that at the top. I could see myself buying Diaclone colored Insecticons just for Swarm purposes, but they are not a priority of any level. The others you mentioned are also minor concerns at best for me.

 

Why?

Why would someone who owned and was perfectly happy with MMC/OM's Terraegis or Badcube's Speedbump care about FansToys' Outrider?

Why would someone who loves their DX9 Chigurh give a second thought about FansToys' Thomas?

Not everyone only collects one specific brand. I'd bet that most people, especially here in the 3P section, have mixed collections.

 

Maybe it's like those dumb iDevice unboxings where some guy gets the new iPhone Eleventeen and then does a Youtube video destroying it.

Perhaps if I win the lottery, I'll buy up all the FT Thomases despite being 100% OK with my Dx9 Chigurh and used them to construct an outhouse for incontinent monkeys or something and then resell them all as-is after about 6 months of use and giggle in glee as people pay ridiculous aftermarket for toys covered in monkey poo. I'll even put it as the first detail in the eBay description - "FIGURE HAS SPENT SUBSTANTIAL TIME EXPOSED TO FECES".

 

I have a very mixed collection. In fact I have Terraegis, Speedbump and Chigurh, but I'm absolutely in on Outrider and Thomas still. I don't worry about "I already have that character" at all. I get ones that appeal to me, and most things from companies whose products I've liked.

My statement was more in general, but even if someone is out on say Outrider because they have Trailbreaker already from BC, OX, or XTB they would still probably prefer that over a generic reissue they don't specifically need if only because it is one less figure in the way of them getting the one they want.

 

And that's why I included reissues/repaints along with unreleased/teased because everyone has different perspectives and wants so I tried to cover as many bases as possible.

I can't even imagine how much butthurt crying there would be had I made two separate poll posts today. A poll for reissues/repaints and another for unreleased/teased figures? Jesus Christ, as soon as I would have posted the second one I would've had to immediately hop in my car and floor it over to Ken Ham's Ark Encounter hoping for the best.

 

I didn't say doing both was wrong, just I thought it would be better to separate the two categories.

You are very right about the reaction to creating 2 polls on the board though....

 

Literally ANYTHING they've already teased but not released, plus the Insecticons and Perceptor (those command absolutely stupid aftermarket prices and haven't been reissued once so far).

Quietus should have ALWAYS been this color scheme, and shouldn't be reissued so soon... I bought that thing, what, late last year?

I wonder how they determine what gets re-released and/or redecoed, and when. Was Quietus such a huge hit that they felt they HAD to reissue it NOW?

 

This reeks of entitlement, guys. The others are still coming, you know? Imagine being upset that a company is releasing products.

 

These weren't listed, but G2 Sludge or Swoop, toy colors Phoenix (which requires some remolding, admittedly), Greatshot (another that requires some remolding), or Mechabot Terminus would've interested me a lot more.

 

It's more things we hope for or things we wish weren't cancelled for most I think. The whole toy collecting thing is entitled if you really think about it though lol

 

FansToys is probably the biggest 3p company currently (I am guessing). They make a lot of pieces and nearly all of there product sells well/out. FT has been producing Tfs for several years now. FT should have the financial and factory contact means, to have factory A produces new product, while factory B produces reissues and repaints, FT could even have a factory C just for X versions. I think the market could handle two or three releases at the same time, worst case scenario is that this extra product takes a bit longer to sell out.

 

I'm holding out for the Dag Base repaint.

 

An FT Insecticon Giftset would be amazing, but, I've always been curious to see how their old Blaster (or Soundwave) designs would have turned out.

 

I want a MP perceptor. Reissue with improvement would be a better choice.

 

I voted Sovereign, but does any store have him up for pre-order. The reissue that is?
