Better than Zeta... but not the grand slam home run that RoadKing was. Close... but a few things could’ve been better.

 

It really does look like their Motormaster set the bar too high.

 

I’ll wait until I get him in hand but I don’t see Roadking as that much better. For now I think they’re on par. Roadking is fantastic but at the end of the day he does have a backpack (which I totally don’t mind because he’s an entire articulated truck!).

Guess people are realizing the aesthetic problems with this figure now that they have it in hand. It sucks to point them out now and not during the design process. The look of the figure could have been corrected before, but now we're stuck with it. Even the box art looks better than the toy.

I tried making this point to FT - you can't screw up a torso-bot in a $600 set. Limbs bots can have a few mistakes and people will still buy the set. Oh well, I guess FT likes to lose money. Fans don't seem to matter like they used to for them. No carbots, tons of headmasters, and now ugly gestaults. At least they made tons of money on that terminus repaint that didn't come with any new parts (face, chest, etc.). I'm sure all those profits was why they discounted so quickly.

 

No, due to the hinges it's on you can fold the tips more towards the middle but not upwards. Unless you point the entire nosecone of the Concorde upwards but it will end up above his head.

As for those people saying Roadking is superior, just wait untill you can put them side by side. I think Maverick is superior just from a visual standpoint (he looks more appealing, has more variation in his colours). But again, different strokes for different folks  

 

Yes I see, I literally just took it out of the box and took a photo. I don't know if there's a reason why it comes mistransformed in the box though.

 

Based on the side by side images I gotta give this one to Zeta, maybe that will change once I have him in hand.

 

More than the aesthetic (although I like the Zeta version better, but this may be subjective) I'm a bit disappointed in the articulation. Limited elbows and ankles, single jointed knees, for the price I was expecting more.

 

Sometimes not reading the comments are best. You have people trying to justify why they went with zeta or trying to justify not spending money etc. I have the zeta one and Maverick is on the way, and i feel comfortable saying the FT one just looks better! Whether its better by an inch or a mile is neither here nor there, its BETTER period!

That's cool, but it's just a presumption that it's better, you don't even have it in hand to prove to yourself that the feeling you have about it is accurate, so it's unclear why we should weigh that opinion any higher than the ones you are belittling. They seem equally valid at this point. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

 

Saying zeta is better isn't justifying anything to anyone when you have both (my Maverick is on the way).

Maverick looks good on his own and with other bots, but that photo next to Zeta Silverbolt in bot mode... Man does FT look really bad proportions wise  

 

Ft silverbolt in that photo is not transformed right, the pic has his shoulder below his chest and the sides are wrong lol. He does look bulky but that photo exaggerates it.
