I really love the design, and as I'm working on a couple of figure designs myself I was wondering how you go about designing figures? Do you block out the transformation then build the robot around it, do you design the robot and then retrofit a transformation to it?

Thank you. I usually make a basic shape for robot mode and once he is looking somewhat ok I make a basic rig to test the alt mode. I animate the transformation from frame 1 to 10 and I model the parts in both modes at once when cycling trough the timeline. I use locators to help me with stetting up pivot points,
Here is an example for the first steps for my fortress maximus :D  I was experimenting with some alt modes but I will go full marvel comic (the top alt mode) since he was mostly a non transforming character.

  I might try but i do not think my printer has the volume to make the parts that big. 20x20x20 cm The chest and the lower legs probably would not fit.

This version was printed in 60% scale to show how the STL files can be used :)  Most of the parts fit and only small adjustments had to be made. The figure can of course be made smaller or bigger and the limit is your skill and printer.

Here is a fortress Maximus update. I will create a separate post for him once the project is a bit more advanced.

how big are these again? i have Toyworld Fort Max, and if your Fort Max, and Scorponok is as big as him, or even bigger, I might just pull the trigger on your version.

They are the Height of MP10, not sure how big toywold is. But they can be printed bigger or smaller.

Thank you for posting your photos :)  I made some comparisons and some new galleries. As for new projects I will try to share something soon.

You can get the files here https://www.ebay.com/itm//173949754966

At 2019 Retcon in Sweden you where able to see some of my projects thanks to my friend Eriks help. One of the convention guests was Simon Furman, the man who wrote the stories that inspired me to make these figures. You can see him with Scorponock [IMG]:D  It feels nice to give something back and the story made a full circle [IMG]:D

Perhaps if this style gains popularity some 3P will start making them. I would love to make them for everyone but currently I have very little time for things other than new projects :<

And the files include everything for skorp as well as zarak? Staff and all? And fort max has a functioning headmaster? How did you do that?! Does anyone have a small version to tell if it still functions okay?
