Er, hey guys. So first off, sorry I’ve been a bit of a stranger around here this year. Work stress, mental illness and a rather sparse bunch of releases this year made me drift away from Transformers a bit, but I feel myself drifting back again now, even if it’s to collide with the beastly dilemma of whether to get Ironhide, Ratchet or wait for Crosshairs...

Anyway, I will try to pop in here a little more often.

Now the, TFNation! I currently don’t have a ticket, as my job situation come September is still up in the air, but the more I think about it the more I want something to look forward to, so I’m seriously considering going for the Saturday again. It was good seeing a bunch of you last year, so is there anyone planning on being there this year? I was even thinking of driving this time, so I wouldn’t be bound by train times in the evening. Anyone have experience with parking fees in NEC-land?

    Yeaaah.. these are really great.

That sound you can hear is me approximating some sort of construction digger truck type noises. While laughing/crying into my bourbon. Fun fact - Long Haul actually makes unintentional great value faux engine noise when whooshed along a deep pile rug.

Morning all... Hope everybody is doing ok.

Apologies to anybody that has messaged me and not got a reply. Truth is, my 3 year journey of leaving the hobby is coming to a close. I no longer hang around here much and rarely check the account I use here.

    I'll reply to everybody asap.

I'm hoping you drifting back is a sign that the rl stresses are passing?

I tell you what, Chromia's vehicle mode is actually pretty slick and totally fits in with the aesthetic of the other vehicles. No mean feat, all things considered.
    Also, poor Flak!

    So... I did something naughty...

    IMAG1209.jpg

I cracked the other week and ordered this set off a Chinese eBay seller. And the phrase 'a fool and his money are easily parted' has been repeating in my head ever since. £63. Surely it wouldn't cost that much when the local retailers started stocking it. But noooooooo old nerdy mcfartpants just had to have it now. Like the greedy impatient manchild that I am.

    But then....
    IMAG1210.jpg

He is a sexy bastard in hand. Character wise, he may not be my favourite seeker, but Skywarp has always had a cooler colour scheme. Siegewarp is a damn fine figure. I do kind of feel a bit vindicated given that the Firestormer set ended up costing £60 in the end, I feel like there isn't much chance these guys will be any cheaper when they land properly in the UK.

    IMAG1212.jpg

His battle-lad compatriots all look rather nice too, but I didn't get the chance to take them out of the package.

    IMAG1213.jpg

So between the Phantomstrike and Firestormer sets... they may be pricey, but the figures within are beautiful. If the Siege line keeps up this momentum it could very well replace Titans Return as my favourite series within the Generations line in no time.

Cheers... I'd kinda been getting tired of the hobby for a while and really only kept up with it for photography. But after I stopped taking robot photos there has been little reason to keep buying figures.

I'll probably stop by here from time to time but it'll be infrequent.

I think a lot of people from this thread are going, I am for a start.

As to parking, as it's the NEC there are quite a few car parks for the area for all their trade shows, so there's virtually no chance you won't find a space, however the busier it is the more unlikely you'll find one nearby. A few years ago (back when it was still Auto Assembly) I arrived late on a saturday (after 12pm) with @scubaboy31 and we had to park well over a 20 minute walk away.

So I would recommend coming in as early on Saturday as you can... especially since it looks like Motioncity (Latin dance con) will also be there again this year. AND OH LOOK! The Jehovah's Witnesses Convention is also running at the same time this year! BWAHAHAHAHAH. Oh dear. Let's see how many people I can offend this year. Also, Festival of Quilts is on at the beginning of August Boo! The quilters were cool.

Crafters are usually good people, out of all social media community sites it's Ravelry the knitting one that's done the right thing.
Force by name, Farce by nature. It's more frustating when it's just. So. Close.

Thanks @Napalm and @Skjalddis - though ‘ugh’ at the though of having to read so much with the expectation that it won’t be worth it. Hopefully I’ll feel differently (alt probability - will just leave it at lost light...)
    That’s awesome.

Don't worry, he's worth the wait! Was one of the jewels of my collection back when I followed the MMC IDW scale.

    I own 2 Megatrons….Iron Factory and MMC's.

Both are great in their own way, but IF's achieves what I thought was nigh impossible and outdoes their Bruticus. All those options for displaying and it's not compromised by having to try and achieve a gun mode that's not in scale with anything. If they were to tool some MTMTE parts and do another release I'd be all over that as well.

Was looking out into the back garden the other day and saw a movement,
[IMG]Frog by Brendan Mitchell, on Flickr

We get a lot of frogs in the garden as we have a pond, they're very good for keeping the amount of slugs and snails to a minimum.

Mystique arrived this morning and is excellent!,
[IMG]Mystique by Brendan Mitchell, on Flickr

As the guns in the package were both crap I did some rummaging about and found that some of the guns from the McFarlane Walking Dead line work nicely and settled on that one. Gotta admit that ML articulation is feeling a bit limited after getting my first MAFEX figures but there's still some very nice figures being made.

I seem to be in one of those phases where I'm not really doing much Transformers wise but it's not through a loss of intrest, I'm just waiting for one or two things and I always seem to bounce from focusing on Transformers for a bit to other stuff whether it's 1:6 scale or my recent tangent for Marvel Legends and figures in a similar scale.
