Can a little future firm up the joints and make this a 10/10?

Got mine today.....gotta say, not sure where the additional time was invested. Very "fiddly"...began to fall apart as I removed it from its styrofoam coffin. It did improve once I transformed it a couple of times and tabbed everything correctly. It's a sharp piece but I just don't see why Maketoys needed the additional time. The QC seems the same as the original releases. Nothing is different except the box and the color. Scratching my head.

Will I invest in the next crowdfund?....gotta think about it. Probably will because I'm a sucker for the jets but it's not going to be anything mind blowing.

    I got mine today!
And it is way better than I expected.
The yellow section seems like all painted so the texture feel even better than the original meteor,
and they actually fixed the neck problem so the nose won't fall off again.
So this is the first time I transform this mold without any problem.

Now I am thinking about the Pyrotrail.
it comes with the flame thrower and I really want to complete the welcoming committee, but all together it would cost me 360USD+...

They obviously backed it with dummy accounts.

Damn. Thought you were kidding for a sec but nope:
    Maketoys RE:MASTER MTRM-CF01 SOLARFLARE
Stand by for a lot of angry posts from backers who thought exclusive meant... um... exclusive?
Pretty sure when Maketoys said “produced only for YOU whom backed this project” most supporters thought that meant only for backers...

I suppose technically, if Robotoybase backed for say 50 copies then they’re allowed to sell those on their shopfront ... most will probably call that dirty pool though.

    Ooooh. That’s cool.
Can you confirm what they did?
Did they replace the C clip with a proper pinned joint or something?

I honestly think Maketoys are on their knees right now. Severe lack of releases, figures in resin proto for years, easy repaints having to be crowd funded......

Add that all together and it suggests they're struggling.

As Crowdfund is open to everyone
I can't see any problem for any retailers to make order from the shop.
There are no way to stop that anyway.

And there are no limitation on the crowdfund page, so anyone or any shop can order any Qty they want.
Especially the current retail price is way higher than the official price, as one of the backer I am actually kinda happy with it.
Actually I am a bit regard that I only ordered 1 when it was still available....
If I ordered 2 it could fund me for the second one already LOL

Just as long as they release the Coneheads that’s all I need from them now.
Their Facebook said the first would be June/July so I’ll be curious to see if/when it shows.

I actually love the Meteor mould and really don’t want to have to pick up the KO MP-11 coneheads or worse: wait for yet another company to decide to take a crack at it, work their way through the three Seekers and finally get to the Coneheads. Even if Takara does a V2...V3... um V4? Starscream, it will be 18 months to 2 years till it releases, at least another year for each of the remaining Seekers... Takara V2 Coneheads would be at least 5 years away from release, if they even do them.

Come one MT, just hold it together for three more retail release jets, and do as many random crowdfunded repaints as you need to get the Coney’s over the finish line!!

Tony at robotoybase often sells second hand like this. He’s just selling his copies like everyone else only he’s doing it for a reasonable price cause he’s not so greedy that he’s gotta hit the $300 range that everyone else seems to be selling for. I call that awesome pool cause I missed the first CF but just grabbed one from him and I’m super happy lol

Yep. I said similar in the thread announcing they were ending direct part replacements.

Nothing about what they're doing suggests otherwise. Crowdfunding a repaint while keeping years old releases on the backburner? Alarm bells.

I just got an entire leg sent for free for a second hand Galaxy Meteor, so I guess they’re ending it in the future? Or was that a rumor or something?

I’m currently withholding judgement on the whole story. You can still buy copies of the “so-called exclusive” G2 Meteor from sellers on a TaoBao. If Solarflare appears for sale there then we’ll know it’s Maketoys doing a shifty one. I’m not a backer so not bothered either way, just saw a few posts recently from backers speculating about this appearing at retail and how they wouldn’t be happy about that.
If it does crop up, and if the price is right, I may even pick one up. Probably not as between MP-11’s in Alt, Maketoys Seekers in Bot and hopefully Maketoys Coneheads also in Bot I really don’t have enough display space for more Seekers. But the painted finish on this does look amazing.
