Not a major international re-release, but iirc you still see them getting some limited runs in theatres, as other 'popular' blockbusters get from time to time.

Meh. I didn't care enough to go when they did.

Yeah, Fathom Events for example usually reshow films. I was just saying it was not worth it. From the Viacom investors call, it seems like Paramount was wanting to move on the from the Bayformer films. Reshowing these films isn't exactly going to help their goodwill from what they've said recently.

What? Do you even know how old that man is? He probably won’t be directing very much longer and he is basically done. He said he was done and the studio said he was done. Plus he’s probably sick of the franchise and wants nothing to do with it. Plus they probably wouldn’t even allow him to return.

Indeed, the only reason Bay even stuck around was because doing the TF films allowed him leverage to use to convince Paramount to fund his own passion projects (Pain and Gain) or they straight up paid him insane amounts of money in advance (I think it was $10 million extra on top of the salary for filming TLK...that's more money than most of us will see in our lifetime!)

Now Paramount isn't in a position to do that anymore.

I think it will all depend on how future non-Bay movies fare. If the next few are big hits, I think they'll completely abandon Bay. If they're flops, I could see them bringing Bay back to do another. Especially if nostalgia started forming around his movies. But even if that happened, I think the days of Bay getting full creative freedom are gone. He'd probably be required to make the movie a certain way, to avoid another TLK situation. I think it would also depend on how Bay's future (non-TF) movies fare. If those start flopping, he'll probably fizzle out of the mainstream pretty fast.

    I can see it now...

Ten years in the future, Bay movie nostalgia will kick in.

The studios will take notice and proclaim they are making Bayformers films for the fans.

They hire a hot shot new director, who decides to change the aesthetic to be more “up to date” and “realistic”.

The new designs are revealed. The Bay era fans are not happy and proclaim “This is NOT my Transformers” and “My childhood has been ruined.”

They make movies with awful dialogue and constant camera shakiness. Fans immediately go online to complain.

The new movies fans call Bayformers fans “old whiners who are out of touch”.

    The circle of life continues...

He’s only 54. You can’t decide whether or not a director is done or not, just because you hate him so much. He doesn’t want anything to do with it RIGHT NOW, in 10 odd years peoples views on things can change you know?

    This.

Sorry what? I never said I hated him. In fact I don’t hate him at all. There’s just certain things I dislike about his Transformers films and that AOE and TLK were trash. That was just an assumption you made about me. In ten years time I don’t think anyone will even honestly remember much about the bayverse or remotely care. No one would want to see him return except for fans of his Transformers films. A lot of people don’t care right now as well. Bay said he was done so he’s done. For good. Highly doubt he’ll ever return even if he does want to return the studio probably won’t even let him! I didn’t “decide wether or not he was done or not.” He decided he was done of them for good!

Exactly... anyone thinking he will return or thinking his opinion will change is honestly kidding themselves. It will never happen. He won’t return and is done for good. PERIOD.

Nope. Not for now. He is done period. He said himself he won’t be directing anymore Transformers films and that TLK is his final TF film. The studio said he won’t be directing anymore as well. For good. I don’t know what’s so difficult to understand here.

LMAO what part of THATS what Paramounts views and Bays views ARE NOW!???? Like I said, views change. You also tried using age as an excuse which is so forced considering he’s only 54 lol.

I never used it as an excuse lol. He is getting quite old and by the time 10 years rolls around which you so claimed “he will probably come back in 10 years.” He will be 64... most people retire in their sixties.

On top of that, Bay has said he's done several times but has kept coming back. He was done after TF3 but returned and made TF4. He was done after TF4, but returned and made TF5.

That was apparently because Paramount wanted him to return to direct another. Look it up. As far as we know officially the studio doesn’t want him back for now and Michael himself doesn’t want to come back for now.

Doesn't make a difference. Like ShockwaveCanon just said, views change.
