Jet mode is absolutely immense. Easily the most impressive jet that I own. Transformation is generally pretty elegant with some fiddly bits on the undercarriage.

He might be the best figure in Siege thus far. In any event, I’d say he’s absolutely essential for any collector with even a passing interest in G1. Can’t wait to see how he’s depicted in the Netflix show.

 

I'll just be using the chunk up there as it's own battle drone. It feel it looks rather goofy sitting on top the jet like that.  

 

Respectfully disagreed but that’s the awesome thing about this figure (and Siege in general). So many possibilities and you can do what you like!

 

Don’t know if I like him more then the original 2 versions as I was never enameled with the Skyfire design for Jetfire, but he sure makes all the Knock Off versions of the design look like utter rubbish.

 

Is this toy of the year? I’m curious what some websites will say.

 

If you are into the Siege line sure he looks good. As a MP collector he is too warty and toy like to fit in with the rest of my collection. Phoenix fits right in.



I might pick up Siege Jetfire for my son for Christmas.

 

If I had a son ,I wouldn’t hesitate to to do that. This figure is one of the few times I feel Hasbro has made a toy that completely eclipses its namesake in every way. It’s hard to explain but those hold G1 toys + our memories of the cartoon I feel have an effect of making their previous retails efforts of recent years underwhelming. This guy really made me stare at it for about 10 minutes. Excluding third party, it’s feels like a true ideal representation of the character as a toy. I guess this is what MP collectors felt years ago when they first say MP1.

 

Even when I was a kid. I use to say that isn't Skyfire when I saw the toy. I still really wanted it, because I was also really into Robotech when I was a kid. As a collector now I can appreciate it more. My son has Generation Jetfire and I felt that was kind of a good trio balance of G1 toy/Cartoon/IDW. When I got Phoenix I had to do the obligatory G1 size up.

Purists won’t like it, but if you’re looking to add even more firepower, I think Sixgun complements him quite well.

 

Jetfire is on the short list for Transformer of the Year. I love how the port in his hands disappears when you open his hands.

 

I know this is the toy forum but my only frame of reference was the G1 cartoon. But even based on that it seems depictions of him and people’s preference was being armed to the teeth. But my impression was he was kinda peaceful, reluctant fighter.

 

Yeah cartoon Skyfire wasn’t much of the armor-wearing gun-toting type. In fact, he mostly seemed to act as an air transport for the other Autobots so it’s cool that this Jet mode can actually have figures hang off of it.

I like everything about this figure except the battle mask, which I think is a misstep. Molding it in transparent plastic and then coating it and white just blurps out all the details. When he's wearing it, he looks like his head is made of clay.

I hope Nonnef makes his own version that's either two pieces of plastic; a transparent visor inset within a white plastic mask, or just an entirely white plastic mask with the visor painted in.

This is Hasbro splitting the difference between his depiction on the cartoon and the Macross jet toy. The toy was armed to the teeth.

 

Man oh man!!!! This figure was well worth the wait and absolutely does not disappoint. I cannot put him down since he arrived yesterday. I absolutely love and appreciate everything about this guy. The fact that Hasbro pulled this off at under a $100 price point is nothing short of mind blowing. Hasbro has really knocked it out of the park with this Siege line.
