I do get sick of grey plastic. So I went a little nuts recently. Chromed all over little Frenzy here. Changed his eyes to the film blue also.
So now he's nice and shiny.

Well, the battlemaster effect pieces leave me very meh. I do like the arm tabs so his more locked together in gun mode than his takara counterpart.

Saw spidey. Loved it. They did Mysterio justice. That's why I've been wanting to see him in a movie for years. Also, that mid credit scene. Can i watch the next one yet?

I have the other Laser Rods but poor Electro is too damn fragile. It’s a toss up which is more fragile Electro, G2 Slingshot or BWN Randy.

I've had G2 Slingshot combined for about 20 years and moved house with him No problem. Randy is still MISB. Electro lives in his box but occasionally comes out, but is never transformed.
Same with Liokaiser Killbison.

 

so dropped the seller a message last night - reply was a bit odd - seems to suggest he sent 2 parcels to me (?) and the tracking number he gave initially was a logistics tracker - mine should be somewhere in the skys heading this way.. VERY confused by the 2 parcels bit - i'm pretty sure i only ordered 1 - it's certainly all i paid for.. this'll be an interesting wait..

 

Does anyone know of an up to date listing of 3P toys by original name? Particularly IDW-based stuff. Or am I just going to have to go through Kapow and TFSource eyeballing everything?

On a similar topic, any opinions on SXS Hot Flame? He looks the business, but I heard something about dodgy hands on the original.

 

I tend to just google for 'third party >insert character name<'. Life's too short to remember every crappy moniker that MMC comes up with.

And my thoughtful analysis of them is...they're a bit shite.

Nickel is a pain to transform, a pain to stand up, and looks like a right messy shit show. Those arms feel incomplete, design wise. There feels like there should be another step to make them look a little more elegant and seamless.

'The Pet' feels flimsy as hell. I'm just waiting for it to break. It also looks like somebody handed in the design right at the deadline and then went on annual leave for a month. I mean, is this it? I though the point of these high end 3rd party items were that they were supposed to be so much better than your 'mainstream' (god, I hate that expression. Like, yer CHUG gear is some sort of junk food insult to the true connoisseurs) product. This gappy piece of crap has kibble hanging off it in such lazy ways that you'd assume it was maybe some hangover from Beast Wars that was rejected for being too shite.

And the scale. Oh man! Like, the WfC speculation thread has made me want to burn the word 'scale' from my vocabulary, but it does matter. And having the smallest form of Dominus Ambus stand about as tall as WfC Ironhide is a real passion killer. "Yeah, but we don't make these toys to scale with the Generations stuff, we're making it for it's own consistent scale." Well, then you are an idiot my friend, and that's why I'm skipping half your stuff. I'm buying these figures because I want to complete the cast of my favourite TF comic. You seriously think I'm going to welcome such a big ol' dose of the cognitive dissonance?

The truth is that I feel angry with myself for being an unthinking completist that's pissed away money on sub-standard crap because GOTTA HAVE MY DJD (I know, I'm such a poor little flower. Life is really hard actually, thank you for asking) and I'll do it again to get the two big lads. But then that's it, I think. Unless they come out with something that RRRRREALLY grabs me (Like a Rung or Fulcrum that actually scales with my CHUG's) I am done with MMC and 3rd Party stuff.

I'm afraid @barry's his bang on self there, unfortunately the TF Wiki doesn't list third party products and a cursory look at Spartan's entry on WikiAlpha doesn't appear to have an IDW collating list option, just an MMC one. "Third Party 'X'" search is where it's at.

Sorry to read your DJD Djisappointing, Mister B, it's them or Iron Factory (or both), innit tho? Nothing like having your options limited.

Keep your eyes on Nonnef's site around TF Con, Murderswipe and seeker sets are scheduled to be next up, Brian! Dunno about the face/head but I'll bet it's the gear you might hanker for at least.
