Damn this looks amazing. I liked the IDW design for Star Saber but hated his characterization(too much of a departure from how he was in Victory, I get that it's a different continuity, but still...).

Itching to see the pics of this toy upon release

 

I'm not sure how you feel about 3rd party, but I remember GCreations teasing a AOE/TLK Grimlock that was simply a beast. Between that design, and perhaps something inspired by Imaginarium or the FOC design could go leagues beyond what we consider impressive.



And I'd definitely be in for a Nova Prime as well. Throw in Sentinel too and that'd be a match made in heaven. We have to get the Autobot leaders together to fight alongside or against the Flame Toys Star Saber and Optimus (w/his two possible armor combos).

 

When is this coming out??

 

Actual good question. My instincts tell me a robot cause that’s what Flame Toys does.

But then there’s this. Also we’re more likely to get a bow tie and drink tray if he’s a Dinosaur.

I wonder how they will price victory Leo. Can’t be as pricy as the full figures right?

 

My prediction is that he won’t have any diecast and if so he’ll probably be a bit cheaper. Along with no room for lights my guess would be $200 at most.

 

I'm curious to see if they are going for the traditional black and yellow deco of Victory Leo, or they will have him match Star Saber's colors since he transforms into full armor instead of boots and backpack.
Will I buy him? I don't know. I'm buying Flame Toys figures mostly from the extreme posability and all that bulky armor is going to limit articulations. Maybe if the lion is extremely posable on its own and doesn't cost too much.
Anyway, the sad thing is that Star Saber has been pushed back a month, he is expected to be released in August now.

Looking at those pics, he looks pretty darn poseable even with the armor

 

I may be wrong, but to me it looks like he loses the an crunch and a lot of range in the shoulders, including maybe the butterfly joint. The hips and ankles seem to be less restricted. Still able to do cool poses, but not hyper articulated.

 

I think he’ll probably still be Victory Leo colours. Victory Saber may just look different.

It looks to me like he still has some small movement in the waist and shoulders. I think it’s very possible. But we’ll see if they have any video reveals like with Optimus.

 

Have we discussed yet what they could possibly repaint/retool Starsaber into? So far their Drift has a few possibilities as does Prime. I think they are getting creative with the Fallen from Tarn but it works.

This thing is absolutely ridiculous.  

Just way too much going on with it to me.

not that it's a bad thing it's just too much for me. Admittedly I never cared for things with huge giant clown/duck feet. I can already imagine it tripping over itself clumsily attempting to run around trying to fight bad guys when not in flight.  

Awesome for those who love the gurren lagann and Zoids type of stuff. it's just not really for me.

I probably don't much appreciate this stuff because I wasn't raised on it.
