Oh my gosh a gold G1 Convoy on a pedestal... that can't be removed...  

 

It looks like a whole bunch of nothing that I really really want!

 

too much for what is being offered. while what is being offered is cool it should be offered for half what it is especially as the G1 OPtimus is permanently affixed to the base which makes his being able to transform pointless.

 

Why hasn\'t Hasbro just make S.T.A.R.S. the Teen Titans of the Transformers universe and make a team out of the kid allies of the Transformers? Like Sari, Kicker, Daniel, the Headmasters Jr., Miko, Jack, Cody, Rad, Coby, & etc.

My thoughts? The STARS kit and Optimus is cool, but I’m only interested in the art book. Isn’t Legacy being reprinted soon? I’ll just wait until then for my art fix.

I'm in. A Gold Convoy, plus the STARS set? Wow. Time to look for a way, I love this. My STARS set was one of my favorite things as a kid, played with that set a ton!

I’d just like to point out that it doesn’t look like Convoy is removable. His feet are fixed to the plaque, which is why this is an ariel shot.

His truck mode literally sits straight up.

I can see people just don't understand this set. At all.

It's a nostalgia set, lost on so many who were not around for G1 in Japan. The Japanese S.T.A.R.S. base is differnet than the Hasbro one and highly desired by many fans who collect Japanese releases. The Convoy trophy, while dumb to most, is a tug at the hearts of any Japanese fan who had hoped to win one in a contest as a kid. They can buy one in this promotion for a fraction of what the original now costs. The Scramble Comic included is great, and a vintage copy sold for about $80 last week just by itself. It's a really fucking solid set. And the price is fair.
