You do know this isn’t a toy and is actually part of the TCG right? Beyond that Ravage and Soundwave are the only characters in this set who have cards already and even then they aren’t the same cards with different artwork going by Soundwave having the deployer mechanic in this set.

 

I like retro art. I hope they will get retro optimus art.

 

I always figured a Metroplex like design would be the way they ended up doing the Cassettes. The Tribal synergy way the actual card does it is nice, but this makes way more sense.

Anyways, I'm glad it sounds like they're releasing these guys regularly rather than these cards only being exclusive to SDCC. Having convention exclusive cards has always been dumb and the fact that regular people still can't reliably get cards like Slipstream and Cliffjumper is even worse. Glad to see them going for alternate art cards now, like MTG has been doing.

 

Not really, HasCon MTG Grimlock is still not released outside of the limited HasCon Promo set. I want it, but I'm not paying that premium price...

 

Fifty bucks? Not even truly exclusive, but a launch? Yikes...

 

With the average MSRP for a pre constructed deck being in the $25-$30 range, the price isn’t that bad for two full sized decks

Thing is, Blaster and Soundwave are going to be legal in the main format of the TFTCG. The Hascon Grimlock is silver bordered, meaning that it won't see play outside of friendlies or very lenient commander groups. I think that no-format legal cards like Grimlock get somewhat of a pass on being convention exclusives. This isn't a case like Nalathni Dragon, where the card was both exclusive to one event and legal.

 

They missed an opportunity not putting them each in a DJ booth with half a stage in the background.  

 

I love the TCG ( I am collecting most of the waves) but let’s be honest. Instead of getting plastic, highly engineered toys we are getting shiny cardboard. I hope there are better deals to be had than this.
