I'll play devil's advocate; I think people should stop relying and hoping on Hasbro and Takara to make MP figures of movie characters just because of how hit and miss their releases have been. Jazz and Ironhide may have been good, but Optimus and both Bumblebees haven't been accurate when compared to MP G1 figures.

3P, however has had great success in replicating the designs of the movies characters into cohesive robot and alt modes that minimalises kibble.

Okay, wait, what do people like about mpm jazz? I feel like I missed something. When I saw him I noped straight away. I did like the figure and appreciated the engineering that went into him but to me his big and clunkyness killed the slim and sleek vibe he had. I even went back and watched the 2007 movie and just couldn’t see it, do I just have bad taste?

Irony is when the beauty of Constructicons come from how crazy they look, ILM at their most creative. If guys like Rampage and Demolisher had 2 legs like us I’m sure they wouldn’t be even half as popular.

*insert obligatory it’s over 9000 GIF here*

Sorry! I won't insult Buzzy McDumbfuck anymore. He's adorable.

Totally true. I wouldn't be interested at all if they resembled the G1 Constructicons, who all look the same except the huge pieces of vehicle kibble that hang off some of them.

However I gotta say that it wasn't ILM that designed them, they just brought the concept art to life. (sorry)

What bothers me about that movie is the Bumblebee and Cliffjumper look different unlike G1 but Ratchet and Ironhide are identical besides the head and probably a few small details, just like G1.

And then there's Shatter and Dropkick. I'm going to put it down to visit Earth modes Vs Cybertronian modes.

So if i'm looking at this right, Prime in robot mode should come to around Devastator's chin?!

No totally in scale but close enough as can be reasonably expected for MPM Devy.

I'm sorely tempted but will have to see whether I go all in or just go for 'core' movie Constructicons (mixmaster, longhaul, rampage)...

That not true. Their cybertronian modes are identical except the head and the color, which is exactly like G1, just like ratchet and Ironhide.

Let me say that this version of Devastator is so ugly that it ends to be very interesting. This project would result good just if they could replicate as much details as possible on all seven machines&robots. But they can't do that because it's definitively too much complicated. The worst nightmare of whatsoever engineer.

    My bets on Troublemaker's scale:

    SS scale:
    Long haul
    Demolishor
    Hightower
    Overload
    Devastator

    MPM scale:
    Mixmaster
    Scrapper
    Rampage

By comparison, I analyzed the differences between the two ROTF Devastator in production, and the result is that the Devastator Studio Series is more in line with the CGI of the film; instead Bombusbee Troublemaker is a version realized on the "Legend ROTF 2009" project, modified for the MPM class! Regarding the latter, the most obvious detail is the structure of "Scavenger"... (photo 1) the alt mode is an over sized version of the Legend ROTF, with the same transformation characteristics, where the excavator tracks and the robot wheels are four separate components (the latter in evidence at the rear of the vehicle). The 3P robot (photo 2) presents the same details as the Legend ROTF: 1) the excavator tracks in evidence, 2) the arms positioned in front of the hull structure of the vehicle (instead the CGI has the structure "above the shoulders"), 3) the two wheels have a folding structure only on one side (the CGI has double); the Voyager ROTF is more in line with the CGI of the film (but for a "non-combiner" model it is easier to achieve better details)! Regarding Devastator, even in the "bust" version Scavenger 3P is not in line with the CGI of the film: 1) the excavator tracks in evidence, 2) the two "white sections" of the excavator's arm positioned under the "shoulders" of the combiner (in the CGI they are above the shoulders), 3) general structure more "decomposed and disordered" (the CGI bust is more compact). Scavenger SS as a bust of the combiner is much more CGI compliant than the film... and it is very likely that it will be a different project than the 3P! The other difference concerns Mixmaster, the SS version as Devastator's head and neck, is more in line with the CGI of the film: 1) the gears of the neck and the two side sections of the "roller of the concrete mixer", form a single structure and compact, 2) the two "rear fins" formed by a part of the excavator's hull, are positioned behind the neck; instead Mixmaster 3P has a "more decomposed" structure:1) the two sections of the roller of the concrete mixer positioned further back, leaving a large "empty space"... up to touch the two Scavenger wheels that form the "rear circular shredder", positioned high (Devastator CGI has it behind its back), 2) the two "rear fins" of Scavenger, are positioned to the side (above the shoulders of Devastator)! Another detail that differentiates the two Devastator models is the structure of the basin (Overload): A) the SS model has two cylindrical pelvis / thigh joints (like the CGI of the film), B) instead the 3P model, as joints has the two sections of the truck cabin (like the Legend ROTF)! As for the legs of the combiner, Devastator SS has the color of the "thighs" not in line with the CGI of the film... this is because they are formed by Overload (together with the pelvis), and this is perhaps also the reason why the Hasbro used the "Red Rampage", thus making the left leg one-color (red)! Instead Troublemaker 3P, with an Overload that only forms the basin of the combiner, will have the legs entirely formed by Rampage and Long Haul!

It depends on what you prefer; a better looking figure, or a more accurate figure

All eight, you mean. This image is inaccurate, because a second vehicle forms his left hand. And Bombusbee clearly indicates in their teaser image that they're going with a two pack for their seventh and final release.

Now, the real question is whether they go with an excavator - which hasbro did for the sake of variety - or a second bulldozer, which is what is actually shown in the film.

Also, no devastator will be completely accurate to the film regardless, because for some reason the filmmakers put a second yellow dump truck in the initial group vehicle shots, which corresponds to nothing on Devastator. The wiki claims it forms part of his left leg, but frankly, I assume it was just an error that they left that dump truck in the final film, because plans for the CGI clearly changed later on in production. These films are notorious for that shit, after all.

I feel like they’re gonna go with a second Bulldozer. I think they’re gonna play that accuracy card to their advantage.

Wait, there was a second bulldozer? What madness it this

Also, pretty sure the yellow dump truck was just a random construction worker that happened to be there and was just trying to fit in I just realised I'm describing the plot of the lego movie whoops

    Which second Bulldozer?
I know there was like three i mean One is hand for Hightower
two are Skipjack who was next to payload in one scene so Skipjack
And Second is Rampage who was fighting with 'bee and didnt combined with 'em
Well so there are two options, the Payload is same size as Long Haul so both can be same leg
    same with Skipjack and Rampage
