Didn't see a thread for it yet so I thought I'd be the one to make it.

It was a pretty fun read, looking forward to the next issues. But something is missing... where's Windblade!?!1 I was genuinely shocked at her absence since IDW and Hasbro seem intent on forcing her into every possible piece of Transformers media they can.

I like how they call Ectotron "Eck" for short, like they're making the Jontron sound. :lolol

No reply? Really? Come on! This was a fun issue to read, from start to finish. Sure there were two, maybe three pages missing but I kinda understand that. Still..wish we could see more of those two particular sequences.
Art is good, nice to see some GB action. I am very happy with this first number. :D

I was a bit skeptical going in (transformers and ghostbusters seemed like a weird fusion, but maybe that's just my comics noobness showing--most crossovers seem a bit weird to me but I guess it's not an uncommon thing?) but I really enjoyed it! It was fast and fun and didn't seem to take itself too seriously.

Loving it so far. Glad I got my preordered all paid up for the Eck toy when that comes in.

Great start. Felt too short... which is a good thing. It means it engaged me.

I could hear the Ghostbusters cast and the Transformers G1 voices As I read it.

Why do I hear Hugh Laurie as Ectotron?

Why are Hasbro forcing Windblade into conversations about books she isn't even in now?

Glad people are liking it, picking it up tomorrow. Definitely like the sound of Eck, or I guess just there being a nickname at all.

I'd always been meaning to try IDW Ghostbusters, so went back and caught up on the full run ahead of TF/GB, and honestly, everything the Burnham/Schoening/Delgado creative team produces is absolute gold. Perfect handle on the films' sense of humour and character voices, and Schoening's lovely caricature-style art is delightful, so much better than the hideous "realistic" art you see on a lot of licensed comics.

The fact that they do all the crossovers - whether it's the TMNT, other Ghostbusters, or now Transformers - as part of the main continuity is great. I know a lot of people have this instinctual hatred of anything that looks even a bit like a crossover, but it's allowed for such fun storytelling. e.g., Donatello builds an interdimensional portal next to the ECU in the firehouse basement during the first TMNT/Ghostbusters mini, and then it remains there going into future series, and is frequently important to the plot even in non-crossover stories.

Seems like IDW's trying to make sure the designs stay consistent with how they've had the designs for the 80's movie era Ghostbusters in their books for the last several years.

It does make me wonder how the book would be different if they decided to use the "Real Ghostbusters " universe instead.

Ugh. The old cartoon designs still look good, while the modern redesigns look terrible to me. Unfortunately that was IDW’s thing for a while - using classic 80s series that were loved then completely throwing out everything that made them so loved and doing their own weak substitute instead so that they are completely unrecognisable by fans of the original who now gave no reason to care. Only Transformers and GI Joe were actually successful.

If you were to pretend you didn’t know anything about IDW Ghostbusters or Real Ghostbusters, which would you want to know more about going by the image above based on their designs alone?

I loved this. Good artwork, intriguing story, I loved that the only thing Starscream thought could destroy Cybertron was himself.

    Ah, I see.
Yeah, I can hear it in my head now. Very Abe Sapien (from the first Hellboy movie).

I enjoyed it. It seems after the traveller has come and the choice made Cybertron is no more. That was quick and a bit surprising. So this is an all new and very different first arrival to earth I take it all the Deceptions will be ghosts (as they stayed and the autobots left cybertron)? Interesting first issue thats for sure

I thought the Ghostbusters themselves looked weird. (I don't read Ghostbusters so this is the first time I've seen their designs) The cops looked normal so I guess the GB are just a bunch of freaks. :D  They should have went with the Real Ghostbusters designs would have fit with the cartoon Transformers designs.

Yeah, come to think about it, if they wanted to stick with this version of the Ghostbusters, maybe they should have used the Live-Action Transformers designs.
