Holy crap that’s expensive compared to the previous figures in the line. Hopefully he goes on clearance like the others at Toys R Us. I want him but there are too many nice figures this year and my wife is seriously going to kill me.

At that price, not sure they'll order too many... We didn't even get Ironhide in Quebec. No Barricade either.

With a price like that you\'re better off buying Mp-36.

Wow. That price. I'm sure it'll sit a long time. Wasn't always the case...remember when MPs at TRU were held behind the counter? Year of the Horse MP10 and Starscream both come to mind.

We still have Barricade, VW Bee and Ironhide rotting on the shelves in Ottawa. Tons of Ironhide. At one point MPM-3 Bee went down to $40.

By the way for any U.S. people reading this thread, that price is Canadian dollars. So nowhere near MP-36 or MP-43 price. For reference, MP-44 is $600 Canadian at EB Games.

I understand about Ironhide, but why don't people buy Bumblebee and Barricade?! Those are great!

I should have pre-ordered him during the last sale. Ah well I'm sure they'll be another.

Weird, I just looked up MP-44 Prime's product page... what an expensive toy, and it's weird to see a mainstream chain carrying it.

I'm glad I put in a pre-order during the last sale and got it for $173 CAD which is a much easier price to swallow. Puts him at around $20 more than I got Prime for.

I kind of wish I had waited instead of pre-ordering all of them because I could have saved some money. On the other hand, I'd rather have them then risk them selling out and prices increase.

Hasbro does not seem to be doing their own versions of MPs anymore. They’re taking the Takara releases with an English slipcover over the original Japanese box and selling them at EB Games as well as possibly comic shops in North America.

And as for the prices, I buy all my MPs from Amazon Japan for a significant preorder discount. MP-44 is costing me $464 Canadian shipped including customs fees. Expensive? Absolutely. But way better than $678 which is the cost with tax locally.

Normally the MPM figures are actually more expensive in Japan (the opposite of the main MPs) but Ironhide was selling so poorly over there that I got him for $80 Canadian shipped. I was planning to wait for it to go on sale at TRU but I thought $80 was good enough.

I want Megatron but I’m not sure where I’ll be buying it yet or when. I collect all the MPs and there are so many this year with quite a few large expensive figures that the MPMs may have to wait.
