Still, isn't that Spinister always like in G1 though? It's not like they could use the darker colors. Or straight up pull an Black Redeco for the guy. Come to think of it...

And as a result they look out of place with the rest of the line.

 

Astrotrain - great. I love the TakaraTomy Voyager, but can't deny this is even a step better except for scale, which I don't really mind in this case.

Apeface - pretty much exactly what we would want and expect here. Well done.

Spinister - the base robot is great. I get there are Targetmasters in the line, but he really needs two Targetmasters. They could have remolded the ones that came with Scoop. Seems like a major missed opportunity.

Crosshairs - easily the worst of the three. I already have his Targetmaster thanks to TakaraTomy, but that argument is still valid just like with Spinister. Also he's a bit forced. The head is nice, but he really needed red wheel rims - a signature of his look. Get rid of the sticker details and make sure the base paint operations are there first. He would look all the better for it.

 

So, assuming the possibility of not getting anymore Targetmasters after this year, I guess we're supposed to give Shrute to Spinister, and I'd say Caliburst works pretty well as Singe.

 

They don’t look any more out of place than putting season 3 and onward characters in a line full of season 1&2 earth modes

 

Like I said, I will get these, BUT... I understand cost cutting, yet some things are just super unsightly. If you are going to have hollow forearms for where the fists store, could they just please engineer it so it's on the bottom? I mean, for a voyager they should avoid it anyways, but if they have to have it, it's blatantly ugly on the side. They've used this cost cutting "technique" on every size class and it never really looks good. That's why I have higher praise for Voyager Starscream and Optimus over Soundwave.

Well, I'm pretty excited about these reveals. For the most part, War For Cybertron has been pretty boring to me. I'd definitely buy all of these though they're being released at the end of the year? Really? Boorringgg....  

 

I'm gonna guess that based on the context, G1 Crosshairs has an Earth mode, whereas WFC Crosshairs has his Cybertronian mode, which would mean that he started as an Ironhide truck, but branched out into his own thing, unlike Ratchet.

 

A new Astrotrain, huh? Who'd have thought? Well, I guess I'll just use the Titans Return one as the Cybertronian form then...

 

To your point I’m a fan of retracting fists or secret compartment fists on larger molds. But I cope.

Apeface is buy on sight. No sure about Astrotrain but have zero interest in Spinster and Crosshairs.

 

But in the Siege line they havent been to earth yet.
