Will Astrotrain have armor for a super robot mode? Maybe the rear cargo train also becomes armor? I'm a fan of the armor feature and I think scale wise Astrotrain is a hair shorter than Megatron, if there is no block of armor than Astrotrain would just be a super heavy, heavily detailed, well engineered Leader that is Voyager height, not that it would be a problem, I'm all for it either way but John did say that all Leaders would have armor and such.

They look great. Astrotrain looks the best but don’t understand why his train mode looks so Earth like + the double cockpit on Spinister is very... odd. Other than that these figures are awesome! Can’t wait to see what else is in store for us with the Siege line.

Siege is all one scale, which is around 1:35. Siege Astrotrain should be shorter than Megatron.

Nah. The feet don't match up. The arms don't work. Other than they both have exposed stuff folding up into their legs, I don't think it's shared engineering at all. More coincidental than anything.

Astrotrain will be bought! No more space/battleship train and dancing shoes.

We already have TR Krok, and Toyhax makes a decent sticker set for PotP Roadtrap to make into Crankcase.

Figures used to do a much better job of covering these hollow spaces. They were on the inside, walled off and away from view. I've cut open plenty of figures, I know we have never really had 100% solid plastic but they weren't always as obviously hollow as they are now. That recent Generations Skybyte is a perfect example of a terrible figure made of panels and emptiness.

We already have a Sky Lynx that is perfectly serviceable. And Scorponok? Omega is not even out yet. Only one Titan Class per year, remember. I have no doubt Scorpy is next, who else is there after all, but probably in 2020.

That could be. The shuttle wings wrap around the rear of the train mode, and I'm guessing part of that includes the arms. (*points at TR Laser Prime*)

...actually yeah the more I look at it the more it looks like Astrotrain borrows heavily from TR Prime. The "cab" that forms his bot arms folds up at the rear of the shuttle/train and the shuttle fin hides in that area like the jet fin on Prime.

Flip the truck upside down, and that puts his wings on the underside of the shuttle where they can wrap around the cab. (That much is for sure redone) and the jet nose hiding in the legs in bot mode looks to be both the jet and train nose. The only question left is "where is the cowcatcher" and that could be on the back of the bot legs working as heels.

Because Siege is a mix of G1/Cybertron as needed.

One thing we don't see very clearly is where the front of his train goes in either mode. So it's possible parts of the choo-choo form armor and we're going to get a feel for how once the full figure is revealed.

Been off the boards for a while, but had to chime in on these.

Apeface looks incredible, easily the best figure of the line so far. nice to see solid alt modes at the voyager class, which have been terribly lacking in this line to date.
Astrotrain looks solid, but almost feels like an apology for the awful TR mold, which had a nice robot mode but garbage alt modes. Seems a tad silly as a Leader, but since WfC:S leaders are barely bigger then old Voyagers, i guess it's not too bad. (i know Astrotrain was huge in the cartoon, but i try not to reference the cartoon and all of it's mistakes very much.)
overall: nice to see triplechangers that actually look decent in all 3 modes after the last few that have all basically had one ok-to-good alt mode plus a total throwaway.
Spinister looks pretty solid if a tad basic ~ but i'm really curious what's going on with that other foot, it's like he has a false cockpit going on somewhere. Nice to finally see one of my late G1 faves get a new mold.
Crosshairs. Wears's that mold better then Ironhide, but only slightly. Would have rather seen him done from the TR Kup mold. This mold is just kind of lame. Not terrible, but not terribly exciting either.

not sure if it's the renders, but the greebling on these new molds seems downplayed a bit, or maybe just a bit more focused? rather then the random details chucked all over the earlier molds plus the "battle damage" seems mellower. the dirty front on Astrotrain is still a bit off-putting, but not terrible. Apeface and Spinister don't look like the'll be as terribly out of place in a pre-Seige CHUG collection as most of wave 1 and 2 do.

Astrotrain and Spinister also seem to do a much better job threading the needle between Cybertronian and Earth alt modes that they seem to be doing on a lot of this line then the wave 1 guys did. Astrotrain's vehicle "fronts" are a bit "on the nose" to his Earth alt modes, but it's way less goofy looking then say
Optimus Prime's "G1 Earth truck with random junk bolted on to look futuristic/Cybertronian" alt mode.

Finally taking my lunch break. Now to comment all this.

I must say, I am just blown away with all this. Astrotrain, he's just incredible. I'm glad I am planning to sell my titans return one. I just love the train mode. It's just what I've been wanting.

Apeface, I'm not really a big fan of or I don't know much about him. But I may still plan to get it.

Crosshairs, I've been wanting one since titans return. Just didn't make sense to replace windblade with him. I could have a full g1 aoe team.

Yes, with spinister on the line. Plus needlenose if he won. That would be a big sign Wheeljack will be made for war for cybertron. What was the point for that fan vote. But I feel since spinister is made, they should still release Wheeljack at the same time or shortly after.

So does this mean wave 5 deluxe and voyagers?

LOOK AT THAT APEFACE!!! LOOK AT IT!!!
    My life has meaning again.
I’m so happy I didn’t succumb to Kingorilla as this iteration is leaps and bounds superior to the 3P option on just the head scale alone.

    Because he originally wasn’t green.

He was only green in the live action Transformers movies.

You’re not the only one. It’s very strange. I don’t know if they connect to make one cockpit or what but it doesn’t look like it. Though it doesn’t ruin the overall figure for me. Personally I think it looks great.

Honestly out of these three I think Crosshairs has the best paint job... just look at it it’s perfect!

'cause they transform differently, and the gun modes look better this way. The old toys has arms molded to their bodies, hence they were the same color.

This. "Hollow" is the wrong term. What fans really gripe about are "exposed cavities" where Hasbro saves money by using one three sided piece instead of two three sided pieces screwed or glued together.
