Finally! And worth the wait, too. Thank God for the crazed munky face. I like TR Astrotrain...but this new one will be a buy as well. This will be the first Siege leader to forego the smaller-inner-bot format as well. I wonder how he’ll compare to Shockwave?

To clarify, I still prefer the movieverse design and was hoping all future versions of Crosshairs would stick to the same general design, but atleast he is getting more recognition in general.

 

There goes another $120 because those ARE BOUGHT!!!!

 

Way better than trying to do double-heading at modern Headmaster/Titan Master scale.

They all look great! With Apeface and Crosshairs, feels like it's finally nearing Endgame for Classics collectors who have been collecting since 2006! Hopefully Snapdragon, Sureshot and Pointblank aren't too far behind!

Will be happy to retire these guys - (Club Spinister, custom Crosshairs from FOC Swindle and Titans Return Apeface)! Will be keeping my Takara Legends Astrotrain because of his cartoon accurate colors (not sure about the colors on the Siege version yet) and the two Collector Club Targetmasters Singe and Hairsplitter (Shrute)

 

So this fills the December numbers On the Siege website which were 3 Decpticons and 1 autobot (as seen here)

So i'm guessing

Spinster is #48
Chrosshairs is #49
Apeface is #50
Astrotrain is #51

leaving Ratchet as #34 and also leaving 4 mystery spots (#44-47) to micromasters/battlemasters.

 

For a line set on Cybertron, there's quite a few Earth modes that shouldn't be there.

Depending on how tall Siege Astrotrain winds up, I'm gonna feel like a reeeeeeeeal schmuck for picking up Takara Legends Astrotrain.

... And Henkei Astrotrain long before him.

Never mind! This new Astrotrain looks much more merciful on my wallet!  

 

Yeah, but it's a line targeted at old school collectors, especially those with kids. If the character didn't have a MTMTE altmode or some immediately comparable thing, they're going to default to something that evokes the silhouette of the OG figure.

Bottom line, if Astrotrain looked like a greeble-covered sausage and a Xindi warship, nobody would buy the damn thing and there'd be so much complaining instead of the "zOMG WOW ALMOST MP" compliments he's getting.

 

Give me a Snapdragon too and then maybe I'll pick up Apeface.

Honestly, I'm more interested in what Hasbro will repaint/retool these guys into. Do you think they'll turn this Apeface into some kind of Optimus Primal homage like eHobby did with the Titans Return one?


I mean, we did just get PotP Optimal Optimus. So maybe they'd paint him blue and do an homage to his Transmetal 1 form instead?

 

I really thought that we'd see a red and black redeco of Aimless as Pinpointer in wave 4 after Aimless was swapped between the Firestormer set & the Battlepack (according to the early leak listing) (I'd assumed the deco would be red & black to go with G2 Sideswipe). It just seemed so obvious that Aimless' barrels were based on G1 Pinpointer's but I'm not so sure now.
At least I'm ready for Crosshairs in either case!

 

Seems like Astrotrain has no armor gimmick like the other leaders, so I wonder about his size. I would guess maybe about the size of DOTM Studio Series leader Megs. Anyways, the Siege line is still nailing the hell out of it, and I will probably get all of them.

 

HOLY MACARONI!!! I want. I want all of them.

 

I’m on the verge of tears, honestly. That Astrotrain is what I wanted in the Titans Return line. It looks soooo good.

And it has actual shuttle and train modes, something that the TR version didn’t get right.
