I recently ordered the while set from ShowZ, and Dragstrip was first to arrive. Slightly weary transforming him after reading the feedback here but really enjoy him as a figure. If the rest are at this level then I'll definitely be happy.

 

I put mine on the exact same spot on Overheat. I didn't have a symbol small enough for the shoulder.

 

Anyone else have issue with separating Deathwish? I press the button but he doesn’t separate... I also have a loose left foot on mine.

 

Yeah. Took mine apart and reassembled like someone on here recommended, but it still won't separate. I think I may need to trim some of the plastic from the forked piece inside, but I've been too busy to try it.

Edit: Ditto on the loose left foot, but some Future Finish tightened it up no problem.

 

While I do have some small enough, I have some smaller than the ones on Breakdown's bicep, it looks bad, as a primary symbol

 

I was hoping someone would post a video. I haven't been able to successfully separate either.

 

Finally managed to glue Overheat's gun the other night with a couple of spots of Gorrila Glue here and there. It worked a treat.

Now, just got to pick up some water slide decals to get them all finished properly.

 

For the Masterpiece scale it should be the second one because the individual members of the combiner need to scale correctly with other figures. The first picture does bring back memories of how I remember the combiners as a kid in the old G1 toon so I do have a fondness for it. Whenever I get a new Masterpiece combiner I like to snap a few pics with my Revoltech Transformers figures so I can relive those fond moments.

where did you get the Rumble and Reflector?

 

I'd imagine Legends scale items like DX9 WIP, PT KOs of WIP, NewAge, Magic Square would work as well.

Nice pics! I don't even want to think about what it would cost to get Combiners that replicate the scale in that first photo, which is kind of where I personally would like them, so I'm fine with having them scale as individuals. As nice as they look I can't do FT's combiners because they're just too huge in robot mode. Also, storing and displaying figures that huge would be impractical. But this is one reason I got into Legends scale figures anyway - so that Omega Supreme and Bruticus can have a real party. Until someone invents actual mass-shifting (and makes it economical to install in a toy!), we'll have to split the difference to varying degrees on just what "scale" means with respect to Combiner teams.

 

Rumble was custom built by @Sculpt-bot many moons ago along with Soundwave’s other minions. There is a post in Radicons about it:

Reflector was custom made from three Revoltech Hot Rod figures around the same time by @Jbarb78 . He also painted the Revoltech Rainmakers in my avatar as well as several other figures.



I was really into the Revoltech Transformers when I first got into collecting but there wasn’t many so I had a bunch custom made. Even had a couple custom combiners made for my Revoltech figures but then the Masterpiece craze came and I was hooked. Didn’t look back but still have a fondness for my little Revoltech guys.

They would work great as well. They may even size better.

True. The MP Combiners aren’t cheap and take up lots of room but I love them. Not a huge legends guy but the figures do look great.



Sorry to go off-track from the thread topic with the Revoltech stuff. Am all in on this set and looking forward to Motormaster. Curious to see how much X-Transbots changed the arm shells.
