.....This brings up a question....When did they actually interect in Canon games aside from "oh no! Someone is in trouble! Let's do something"? I honestly don't know since I never played the Sunshine games onwards (except NSMB2 and SMM).

Funny enough, this is why I don't expect Waluigi to get a playable spot in smash, because he hasn't appeared in anything other than party games. Daisy at least had one game. Forgot what it was, though.

See, Mario still loses even if he did not perpetuate the abuse himself. He's Albus Dumbledore, the famous and talented older brother who got swept up in his success and was never a good brother to begin with. We never see the two of them have any kind of brotherly moments. There's photo ops sure, but those are easily faked.

While the canonicity of the RPGs is debatable, you've never actually played a Mario & Luigi game, have you? Or how about actual canon games: the Luigi's Mansion series? Or, while it is non-canon, you ever see the opening cutscene of Mario+Rabbids? Stating that there's no brotherly moments between them shows that you have a severe lack of knowledge of the franchise as a whole on your part.

A lot of this really depends on whether you consider the RPGs to be canon or not. In particular the entirety of the Mario & Luigi series is ALL about the two of them interacting and is very much a showcase of the brothers' relationship to one another. As for the main platformers, the main problem is that the majority of those don't really have much story in them at all and the ones that tend to story heavy lie Sunshine or Odyssey, straight up don't even feature Luigi (Luigi was added to Odyssey as part of a minigame in a later update). Of course, there's also Luigi's Mansion (which is canon) and its sequel which does shed some light on their relationship.

I will admit to avoiding Mario&Luigi like the plague. I tried it, hated everything about it, and completely wrote it off. I spent time with Superstar Saga, Partners in Time, and Bowser's Inside Story. I neglected the series at first, but a friend popped some ROMs my way and I said "Oh what the Hell." So I spent a couple of hours with each to see if it got better. It didn't. I went back to one of them on the 3DS at one point, but that lasted again only a couple of hours. The combat, the story, and the style was... well, not how I envision the Mario series. I prefer the more mainline entries. This and Paper Mario can go fly a Kite. I don't acknowledge them at all.

On the subject of Luigi's Mansion(a favorite of mine btw), there's a delightful fan theory that after having his butt handed to him in Luigi's Mansion, Peach and co engineered Mario Sunshine as a way for Mario to snap out of his funk after having to be rescued by Luigi of all people.

I never considered the RPGs as canon, but I did enjoy Superstar Saga. They're excellent as a team. I also never played Luigi's mansion so that info is still out of my reach.

I will fold and say their relationship isn't as abusive as initially thought of if SSS is included. but I do think sibling rivalry is still at play. Luigi needs more games! Perhaps one with Waluigi as the villain, huh? Please Nintendo? Two birds with one stone?

....I need to play more mario games...

I was gonna point this out. I mean, Sonic the Hedgehog is supposed to treat Tails like a kid brother, but you'd never know it from playing Sonic 2 or 3. In fact, the games lend themselves to making Tails look disposable and abused. Also, if we're going to gauge the Mario characters based on what's in the games, Yoshi takes waaaaaay more abuse than Luigi. Does he act traumatized? No.

The whole thing about Luigi's personality is just a joking nod to the fact that he's traditionally been the optional Player 2 character forever. Mario comes first, and Luigi is second if he's there at all. It's just a fact of how the games are made, but if you translate that into character personalities, then you get Mario and Luigi as we know them today.

Probably because the current Yoshi hasn't been dropped into a pit of doom yet, lol.

Heh. That's another weird quirk of the Mario universe. You've got Yoshi the character, and then all the other Yoshi's who aren't that Yoshi. Same for Toad and the Toads, or Lakitu and the various other Lakitus. But there's at least a sense that each "group representative" has been the same all along, even if it could be a different guy.

This reminds me of the fan theory that Baby Mario, Luigi, etc, are separate characters in the present rather than the same characters in the past. It makes sense of their inclusion in the Mario Kart games, and we already know Paper Mario is a different Mario. But I still don't buy it.

Now I'm imagining Peach trying to get used to a new Toad servant. What if Toad's have a hivemind? Hmm...no, because then Toadette would be strange...wait, THEY'RE SENTIENT MUSHROOMS! IT'S ALL WEIRD!!!

    - Fortnite isn’t a bad game, it’s just the “in game” right now. Wait a couple years and it will be out of the limelight. People hating on it come across as childish trolls. “Fortnite sux, lololol!”

    - Having realistic graphics doesn’t need make a good game. I’d take a more retro/cartoony game that is fun than one that looks photorealistic and is boring.

    - PlayStation 2 is one of the best consoles in history. (May be nostalgia talking here)

    - Double-jumping should be standard across games.

    - ADS is a dumb mechanic, left-trigger should be for tossing ‘nades, not looking down a scope.

    - Duel-wielding should return to Halo.

Be a little difficult to use Sniper rifles or the like without ADS.

Also devs and pubs should never focus test. I’ll never forgive Insomniac for sacrificing Overstrike on the alter of focus testing and turning it into Fuse.

Scopes work just fine in Halo without the need for trigger ADS, just click down the look stick and boom! ;)

Call of Duty is a boring and overrated series. About the only modern combat type game I liked was battlefield because you could freely drive tanks and stuff.

Yeah this is why I don’t like playing shooters on consoles. Too few buttons to go around.

I agree with all of these. Fortnite is just oversaturated so I have a bad taste in my mouth from it, Graphics don't mage the gane great. Look t Undertale or Blaster Master Zero. Fantastic games. And I'd also think the nostalgia button is activating with PS2....So much time just messing around in those Dragon Ball Z games...

This one is why I'm not particularly excited for Tales of Arise. Granted, it's not as realistic as it could be, but visually it doesn't feel... cohesive with most of the series. Everything looks too overly detailed. Busy, even. Not to mention I have this nagging feeling that I've seen all the environments before.

Maybe not an unpopular opinion, but I think it stinks the only consoles Blaster Master Zero is available on are 3DS and Switch, neither of which I own. I could get it on my PC but I'm not a huge fan of playing games on my PC. I'd rather play it on my PS4.

REALLY? I honestly thought Blaster Master Zero was on more platforms...so weird. Yeah, I'm not a fan of PC gaming as well. I'm glad there is an option for it, but it isn't for me.

The only shooter I play on PC is Halo 2, because it’s the only PC shooter I have, hehehehe. I usually just play Minecraft or simulator games on PC.

I used to play Battlefront 2 for HOURS on my PS2. Until my mom broke it while vacuuming once. :(

-I don’t like the competitive/MLG side of the gaming community. Some people take games way too seriously, and that just sucks the fun out of playing with them.
