Is it sacrilege to display a bot with another bot's weapon?

Example: This week I finally got my Animated Swoop. My Animated Slag I bought years ago loose with no weapon. (not that anyone in his right mind would display him with that...thing) I have been thinking of giving Swoop's weapon to Slag. He looks better with it anyway. Maybe I can find Swoop a nice sword or something. Or maybe one day I'll find an axe for Slag...he's built like a fantasy dwarf anyway.

Yes. You have been sentenced to four non-stop viewings of Energon with only TFP Deluxe Airachnid to entertain you, heretic. A punishment worthy of the crime.

If it is, then a huge portion of my collection is heresy. It would also undermine the last few years gimmicks and the universal sized fist/peg system that's been in play for nearly 20 years.

I'm pretty sure Jesus doesn't care what you do with your toys.

Sometimes I will sell a figure I don't want anymore but I will keep it's weapons, or I'll buy the figure just for the weapons and sell the figure. I keep the extra weapons in a bucket ready for a new figure to come into my life that needs a better weapon. I keep a bucket of mini-cons and microns too.

Transformers weapons are kind of unique in that they have round handles, they really isn't another toy line that does that so it's good to have some extras.

They're your toys, do with them what you wish, and don't care what anyone else might think.

This is kind of silly question, actually.

I sometimes give bots weapons of others if they did not have one or their's were to small. Easiest explanation is, they just lent it from someone else ;)

You're probably the only one noticing it (except when you post the images here) so who cares what you do with your figures? :D

I have a 3p MP Superion that came with his iconic gun, but I wanted to give him a giant sword too, so I bought a spare SDCC Fortress Maximus' master sword and gave it to him.
Moral of the story: do what you want with your bots.

Not that you "weren't allowed" to do so before, but what I've really liked about a lot of these recent Generations lines is how much they encourage that mixing and matching, whether it's combiner limbs, heads, and especially guns. Sometimes one character's gun just works so much better on another figure. Case in point, I love displaying RTS Perceptor with RID Arcee's big ol' blaster.

My TR Nautica holds Generations Wheeljack's wrench as that's the closest we've got to an official "sonic wrench".

Normally though I do personally avoid it. As weird as it is, I get unnecessarily bothered by mixing and matching accessories on my shelf, unless they're intended to be i.e. Evasion Optimus' gun is designed for DOTM Megatron or how Animated Ratchet is designed with a port in order to use Lockdown's EMP Generator.

Not really bothered by what other people do in their collection, though.

The Priest of the Toy Inquisition will arrive soon to bring you before the Tribunal. Many authority figures, both religious and secular, care deeply about how your toys are displayed, it matters to many people other than you.

Currently my PW Counterpunch wields the rifle that came with that shitty optimus from the old classics 2 pack. Sold that optimus years ago but kept his gun because I loved it. It finally found a home with CP

I understand where you're coming from. When I was younger I wouldn't dream of it but as an adult, I'm good with it.

For example, I gave Titans Return Quake his G1 Targetmasters Tip Top and Heater. I love when a new toy is compatible with the accessories of an older toy of the same character.
I gave TR Bumblebee the gun of his Pretender inner robot.

I gave TR Broadside the axe of CW First Aid since G1 Broadside had an axe and First Aid's pacifist nature makes it seem out of character for him to have an axe.

I customised a Chug Trailcutter into Kick Off and was delighted to see G1 Kick Off's backpack fits perfectly on the back of the Trailcutter toy and his handgun fits in Trailcutter's hand.
