Eh it was a pretty safe assumption we wouldn't be seeing Impetus in June given Ni and Fox only just came out last week.

MMC also has to put a few tfcon specials in to production between now and the end of July so those factor as well.

 

Well, no MMC Vortex at TFCon Toronto would mean i wont be able to sneak him in at all this year, and thus potentially never, which sux for my plastic crack addiction, but i fantastic for the wallet.

I wonder what the "few" tfcon specials are... really only looking for Blue or Green Arcee though in terms of "special", and nothing else pops in mind. Maybe a repaint/remold of Foxfire?

A bit CHUGly lookin' with the visible hinges everywhere, and the lack of painted detailing that would help make them seem more masterpiece-grade, but I want them. I do wish we'd get Blast-off before Swindle though.

I'm concerned about the price of these, they seem to be going for a decent amount more than the zeta ones, which given they are either the same size or smaller concerns me. I don't want to end up paying 500 or more (idk, limb bots from what i've seen are 100 for these) is a bit too high when the competition can do it for 200 less....

 

As much as I like Zeta's products, MMC's quality and engineering is way beyond them. You get what you pay for and in this case, it's looking to be a superior product despite being a smaller scale.

 

While i believe they can have better quality, when its a smaller scale, 200 more (or 250, idk what onslaught will be) is... well, pretty absurd. Even when quality is greater, people will tend to save rather than go quality when this much money is the difference.

 

I'm not sure if you seen the Zeta chatter but it sounds like they are raising their prices. The first two combiners were initially designed under Toyworld so the costs were fronted by them. I guess we won't know until preorders for their Raiden go up but it sounds like they expect limb bots to be more expensive.

 

Until confirmed, that’s a rumor. I’m going off what’s in the market. And there are 2 bruticus’s on the market that end up cheaper than this one will be. Even if the prices raise up, they would still be bigger bots for the price, which again is competition and turns people away from this.

 

Well, the UT set is terrible and the Zeta set while fantastic in combined mode, is not good in individual bot modes. The MMC set is the best looking bot and alt modes to drop so far. I think plenty of people will be interested. I know I'm getting them and I have a full Zeta set on my shelf looking at me right now.

 

I don’t know why you’d compare them like you shouldn’t be paying more. These guys are in very different leagues. This set has varying scales between figures. The articulation is supreme. It’s a far more involved effort than Zeta. It’s clearly trying to fit in with Masterpiece figures. And the price point also suggests this.

 

Please release vortex before TFN, I would love nothing more than to pick a copy up there
