Undetermined. I was asking here to see what the community thought it might be worth or if it is even worth selling. At worst, I can just put it up for auction on eBay, but that kind of sucks and is only my last option. I also wanted people to know that the right ankles have a design flaw. There is a lot of diecast hanging off of that thin piece of plastic.

There's strength in numbers. Let FT know of your interest and they just might take a reissue into consideration.

Yeah, if enough people contact FT, and they think it'll be profitable enough to make another 1000 run, they'll do it. Gotta be at least 1000 though, or they won't.

What's the best and most piratical way to get something like this going? There's quite a few older FT releases that need this.

I don't know the answer to this, but I would expect that retailers have the most pull.

If TCP contacted Fans Toys and said "We have XXXX preorders for FT-14 and we'd like to purchase XXXX figures" then Fans Toys might put it on the schedule.

I don't know that this is what happened, but I specifically asked if a reissue of FT-10 would follow FT-10X. Fans Toys said "Nope"... yet we got a reissue anyway. It leads me to believe that retailers wanted FT-10 badly enough and it made sense for Fans Toys to extend their production and create the reissues.

I don't know what their production numbers are on a typical figure these days. Years ago they had runs under 5000 figures for a new mold.

FT-14 might be a hard sell though... there wasn't a lot of demand for the figure originally and I didn't buy my FT-14 until it was discounted. There are other reissues that I think would make more sense.

Pretty sure that FT10 was already produced and ready to go.

FT10 and FT10x use the same parts. If they were going to crank out 1000 units of ft10x, then they would scale up to a full production run if 3500 Phoenixes, with the additional 2500 being in the old pain schemes.

I am estimating production batch sizes, but you get the picture.

It is expensive to make a batch of figures (tooling, RMs, manpower, packaging and logistics). Small batch runs are grossly inefficient and expensive vs full scale batches

    I am waiting for Lupex.

What's that you wonder? It's Lupus with various fixes.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind a re-issue of it, but I'm not going to be terribly invested in any of the FT headmasters without the knowledge that all the Autobot headmasters + the targetmasters + scorponok are on the way and right now that is just not the case. I'm perfectly okay pretending the Nebulans don't exist.

Now, if MMC wants to re-issue Titanika and Commodus, we'll be talking...

Why would they make such a figure?

It costs money to redesign a piece. People have already shown that they would buy a reissue of Lupus, as is.

Unlike phoenix, there are not design issues that are causing breakage. From a business side, it seems like Lupex is a real longshot (especially when they have people willing to buy the standard Lupus, as this thread shows).

Put me down for a reissue too.
Yeah the reason I didn't pick Lupus up initially, and thus missed out, was there's not much appeal in a solo Headmaster (or should I say lone wolf, ha ha!)... Once Mindwipe came along, and Skullcruncher was revealed, it naturally makes that first guy suddenly much more essential.

That's why it's so frustrating that Maketoys dropped their Targetmasters after only putting out one - I'm sure more people would have jumped on that with a solid schedule for his team-mates.
