But how does that make any sense?

Since the + line started we've had a few different figures who have been given the + treatment, and others who have got outright second versions. MP-10 was reissued around the same time as MP-36 came out (surely an MP-10+ would've been better timed?). We got a reissue of MP-21 despite the + line being a thing. Both of those got new versions.

It just doesn't make sense for them to rerelease a straight up Soundwave at this point. Why not go to the extra effort to make it MP-13+, since it will fit in much better with Megatron and co? Because they don't want to bother. Also, now a v2 Soundwave will look different enough from MP-13 not only in proportions but also in colour (since we won't get MP-13+).

I find it really hard to look at a release like that (with all the + releases we're getting these days - 3 this year!), and not read into it that a v2 Soundwave is coming. Maybe not next year, maybe not even the year after, but definitely within the next 3 years. Soundwave's an A-lister. People have been speculating it for a while, but this MP-13 reissue really hits it home for me.

"Sense" and "TT" do not go together in the same sentence.

I love the guys, but man, trying to make sense out of anything they do or don't is something I try not to do for my sanity.

Anyway, whatever it all means, if you want a Soundwave in your collection now just get MP-13. Or get @Shaundiesel to paint you up a custom MP-13+. Or wait a year or three.

If you want a Hound in your collection right this minute, get Willis or Gundog or whack G1 Hound or BT Hound in a collection, it's all good.

The important thing, as Autobot Dave used to always say, is have fun!

For anyone looking for the pics of Hound, apart from @oku's first post, scroll down to my post on the first page to see all the official shots, plus the video and the Figure King scans (all in one image thanks to @Cheem The Rup). Nice to have them all in one place.

Lol. I guess that’s fair. But then if they make no sense then what logic is sound enough to prove they will make a sensical decision? Lol.

With the new toon direction of the line, now I'm afraid of them handling stunticons. Practically no detail whatsoever on those animation models.

Never say never, but I'm willing to bet you'll see Magnus 2.0 before you see Soundwave +. I have no doubt at TT headquarters they're looking at Megatron, Shockwave, and new seekers, and are saying Soundwave needs a makeover. You're not trying to establish your line as high end to new buyers, when you run those three out and then chuck an 7 year old A-list character with a new coat of paint and call it a day. The only problem with a 2.0 is adds another high ticket, more time-consuming design to a pretty long list of A-tier characters from other Transformers line.

if we had gotten either five years ago, they would likely be much more detailed, with Jazz's actual car wheels on his arms like Prowl, and his actual car wheels on his feet and transforming with fewer jointed panels to hide everything. His silver chest would possibly be indented for a later decal we could buy third party. Mirage would likely transform more closely to the toon and original toy, but have a more cartoon accurate head. Now? Who knows. Both will likely hide the wheels, have fake mini-wheels that serve no purpose and have practically no detailing whatsoever. Even the Inferno truck body figures barely had any detail on the backs of their truck modes, leaving us to rely on third party stickers to step in the gap. I still prefer these masterpieces to be real-world accurate vehicle modes, and super-articulated versions of the G1 toys, with small allowances for toon influence (Ironhide, Ratchet, most notably, Bumblebee's face). Sideswipe took the toon aesthetic a bit too much. I'd rather he have had his articulated arms, but the doors and vehicle wheels actually on the arms.

if there's a new Magnus, I just hope he is a white Prime with the armor attaching on him.

Bruh I get it’d look like the toons. I’m talking about engineering. They’d be so basic and static. I can’t wait cause we’ll get a jazz that can actually bust a move, while an older jazz would barely walk.

This guy looks great to me and I'm excited to see some reviews of him. That being said, for me at least, I'm pretty happy with Gundog for the time being.

The dark green one with some reprolabels added. I like the old toy look.

I guess we can cross off the possibility of rubber tires for KO MP-47 Hound, since the official version's back tires are not actually solid because of transformation. He looks fantastic, but that one design choice has me scratching my head.

Got my first ever Figure King from Amazon JP today and can't help but make a few observations:

    1. Amazon JP is amazing! Fast beyond belief. I only ordered this at the end of last week and it's here already! Happy Prime, Bee & Hound are all on order from them.
    2. The front cover of the magazine is on the back? Who knew!?
    3. There is some crazy shit for sale in Japan! And that's all I have to say about that.

Anyhoo. here is a very slightly higher res scan than I've seen on here to date...

Just in case you didn’t actually know most books in japan read from right to left, where most other countries’ books read left to right. So yeah it does appear they’re backwards :D

Just in case you wanted to know why the cover was in the back :)
