Possible Upcoming San Diego Comic-Con Exclusive Botbots

 

And that's Transformers SDCC Exclusive #2, which is usually it, going off of past years.

 

Yeah, I noted when the original listing I found on Panjiva that there was no mention on the shipment referencing a Generations SDCC exclusive. Just MP-10G and the Botbots, time will tell I guess if there is a 3rd exclusive or not.

That is without a doubt the funniest joke likely to ever be told involving Botbots, and probably one of the top 10 involving conventions.

The "BotBots Con Crew pack"? BotBots Con? BotCon? Is this a subtle hint at BotCon? Or maybe it's a jab at FunPub? There is a comic book in the background with a generic US army man on it with a tongue face drawn on it. Maybe a reference to GI Joe/JoeCon?


Also, why is the BotBot on the left here wearing a Pussyhat? Maybe in retaliation to the "MAGA" that was on PotP Jazz?

And how has no one noticed the one BotBot that actually looks like Optimus Prime?

 

Someone has already asked if these are all repaints, but I also would like to know from someone more knowledgeable about BotBots than I am if there are any new molds in either of these sets. I'm looking to update the data pages.

 

At minimum, the ones I circled should be new. (That doesn't account for if they end up being repaints of each other.)

 

I can identify most of them from the description, but which one is Scribzilla? None of these look like it turns into a kaiju...
Is the cofee cup Prime a new mold?

 

What are those pink ones? The one by the popcorn box and the backpack?

 

I dunno about anyone else but it looks like a Galactus cosplay to me. :shrug

 

Follow-up question. This looks to me like the smaller set (in terms of number of figures included) is the one that costs more. Is that right? Why would that be?

 

Because it’s a SDCC exclusive. It probably has special packaging or something. The arcade renegades (the 16 pack) is a normal retail release.

Oh, it's not an SDCC exclusive, also? The article seemed to say it was. If it's not, I'll want to remove that entry entirely.
