    Toy Story 4 - 9.9*/10

Did Pixar sell their souls to do this movie? I’ve seen many great franchises crumble to horrible sequels, but they.. what kind of magic does it take to do four consecutive masterpieces? I prefer Toy Story 3 for their far more intimidating villain, but as far as impact and strength go Toy Story 4 has them beat. Damn! Do I love this film.

Ps. I find it funny how Forky’s voice by the annoying scientist from TLK :lol

*0.1 is for Bonnie’s parents being utter dumbasses

Well, Pixar made The Good Dinosaur and Cars 2. They had to make something to offset the apocalyptic levels of suck those two films alone contain.

Good Dinosaur sucked balls, but Cars 2 at least had the benefit of generating a metric shit ton of toy revenue for them and Disney so less toyetic projects like Up and Inside Out can be made. If the Cars series keeps generating that revenue stream and means the suits don't start micro-managing Pixar, it will serve a noble purpose.

I feel like I'm the only one who unironically likes Cars 2. Okay, maybe 10% of my enjoyment for it is ironic, but I do legitimately like the movie. It has great animated action, neat throwbacks to old spy movies, and fun new characters. No one can tell me Finn McMissile is a bad character...he's one of my favorites in the Cars universe, and it's a shame he didn't get a cameo in the third film. Cars 2 certainly isn't in the same caliber as something like Up or Inside Out, but it's far from Pixar's worst. I find The Good Dinosaur, Monsters University, Bug's Life, Brave, and even Finding Dory and Incredibles 2 far less watchable.

I personally see Cars 2's relationship to the Cars franchise as equivalent to Transformers: The 1986 Movie's relationship to the G1 cartoon. Or even the relationship of Bay's first movie to the rest of the franchise. Cars was a cute movie about talking Cars for younger children. When that audience starts aging out you show them Cars 2, a slightly more violent and upbeat version of what they loved a few years back. Sure, it's a bit manipulative, but so is a lot of other Pixar imagery. Toy Story is literally about talking toys, and they market the heck out of it. They make Buzz toys with all the gadgets you see in the movie. Cars 2 has a bizarreness that I adore, no one can accuse it of being "safe", like some of their other sequels.

For me, Cars 2 feels like the kind of movie where a sequel was ordered, but the creative leads had no idea what to do for it. Spy cars are cool, so they went with that.

    X-Men: Dark Phoenix:

Wow, was this a borefest. That's how I sum this movie: Boring. There was nothing in it to call spectacular or gets my full attention. Perhaps partly to knowing how this story goes like (especially with X-Men 3) but I seriously found nothing interesting in it. The costumes are terrible, the action scenes are nothing groundbreaking (How do you make Quicksilver scenes unimpressive dammit?!), the villains are boring, and the why they treat Xavier put a bad taste in my mouth. From Mystique's rant on him not risking anything (you know, the guy risked his life in previous X-Men movies) to trying to pin everything wrong with Jean on him alone when we see her own father didn't want her.

The train scene is the most positive thing I'd give this movie, but this goes down as the worst X-Men movie. At least Origins: Wolverine is still entertaining and grabs your attention making better than a boring movie.

    Toy Story 4:
Always thought it wasn't necessary, that Toy Story 3 was the perfect ending, but man did this deliver a huge punch to the gut! The ending... did not think I'd see Toy Story would do...!

The new characters are mostly okay. Forky was okay, Giggle was okay, Ducky & Bunny were funny but not too funny, Caboom was great and wanted to see more of him, but Gabby Gabby was the best in how she was handled and presented to us.

A bit of mixed on Bo. On one hand glad she's side by side with Woody, on other hand I didn't like her attitude for the most part. The side characters were pretty much sidelined and barely contributed anything to the film.

    Toy Story 4 - Infinity & Beyond/10

I was hoping for great and got tear jerkingly beautiful, while I would like to see these characters again but this is the perfect ending or should I say epilogue. I'd actually be okay if we get something on Disney+ like preferably sequels set before Toy Story 3 or between 3 & 4 like Of Terror & Time Forgot. Hell I'd love to go back before the first Toy Story.

But anyway my stomach was in pain over how much I laughed, this was more comedic then the last which was a welcome change from the bleaker third entry. And my God was this a beautiful looking movie, Pixar always out does themselves with the animation. Something I noticed, but did anyone else notice Woody's right arm has stitching from his time in Toy Story 2? What detail!

The new characters were fantastic; I loved Duke Caboom and want to use some of his lines in real life, I knew I was going to love Ducky & Bunny since they are voiced by my favorite comedians and they did not disappoint when they were on screen. But Forky killed it, need I say more. They actually made Bo Peep a character and she was ok, not the best character in the movie but I love the moments between her and Woody especially they're reuniting scene.

But Tom Hanks just killed it in this as Woody, truly phenomenal this was his movie and it shows just how far the character has come. They could have done with more Buzz but what we got was fantastic, he is probably the funniest character in the series. Again any returning character not named Woody, Buzz, or Bo Peep we could of had more from but what we got of them was still great. And again it makes sense when you consider this is Woody's movie, his swan song.

I refuse to rank these flicks, they all deserve number one... though my personal favorite is still two. But I can happily say that this movie ties Avengers Endgame as my favorite movie of 2019 and joins the other three Toy Story movies within my top ten favorite movies of all time. In actuality all four Toy Story movies share one spot on the list.

    Child's Play (2019):
Wow, did this movie made me miss the time when Chucky was terrifying and not a character that is impossible to be taken seriously after he switched to comedy, then back to creepy again, then shitting on the perfect ending and going back to comedy.

Admittingly, the AI doll that's programmed because a worker was pissed off at his boss is hokey as hell, but then again the original wasn't free of its share of hokey stuff. But the end result was satisfying. Again, it's seeing Chucky being scary again. The new design is unsettling. Seriously, as a toy that is meant to make kids and families happy with him, who would design him to be that creepy? I've seen Furbies with less creepy designs than this! But if we ignore the design, Chucky is still a disturbing character. The way he was portrayed makes you unsure if he was doing what he did because he wasn't aware that what he was doing is wrong or comes up as deliberate evil. Sometimes you do feel sorry for him for protecting Andy and you need to remember that this is a killer doll who mass murdered people.

Mark Hamil's performance needs no introduction. He nailed the character. Of course, I know he used to voice him in Robot Chicken but damn did he do an amazing job here.

Night at the Museum - 7/10

This the the first time I've seen this movie in its entirety. I remember it being a fairly big deal back when it first came out. I enjoyed it, but didn't find it to be anything too special. The premise and the effects were neat, but I thought the execution was very predictable. Once you get 20 minutes in, you kind of know everything that's going to happen. I was thinking of the first Santa Clause many times while watching Night at the Museum. A down-on-his-luck guy gets wrapped up in a wacky magical situation, which he has to handle on his own since no one believes him. He has to become the hero in this world, while convincing his romantic interest that he is who he claims, and he also has to earn the respect of his kid. It's not a bad storyline, but it's been done to death. And I think something like The Santa Clause does it much better. Here, only a fraction of the humor landed for me. It was a serviceable movie, but I could have used a bit more uniqueness.

i actually liked this a lot more than "Aquaman." Tom Hardy's a much better lead and they do some really impressive things with the symbiote- even if it does remind me of "Prototype" more than Spider-Man...

    Wonder Park - 7.5/10

I thought it was cute. Nothing too special, but it was competent and entertaining. I'm kind of surprised this movie has such a low critic and audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. It wasn't outstanding, but I feel like it should be higher than it is. I enjoyed it a lot more than some of the recent Disney sequels (Wreck it Ralph 2, Incredibles 2), which generally get high praise. It probably could have had a slightly better story and slightly funnier humor, but it was more than serviceable. I'd give it a mild recommendation.
