Good luck. Beast Wars Neo makes Beast Wars II look like Beast Wars.

Yes, two Japanese exclusive anime series, both were recently fansubbed in their entirety by @kary and their group marking the first time westerners have been able to understand the series without knowing japanese

Only in Japan. They were drawn, not cgi. II used repaints of older toys (except Lio Convoy and Galvatron) but Neo was all new molds.

Wasn't sure where to discuss this. Was watching the episode of airazor's birth. Scorponok says Megatron rewards loyalty. Do you think that means he rewards to ones that are loyal to him or do you think that means he gives them loyalty to him?

I’m dead certain that it means he rewards his minions with loyalty points- just like a supermarket- and once they’ve amassed enough they qualify for a boost in rank. Then, once one becomes his right hand man, they’ll be able to actually transform into a right hand. Sadly, the Predacons were so incompetent no one ever earned enough loyalty to become a hand.
Inferno and Scorponok were however being fed small doses of loyalty grains daily to keep them blindly subservient and I believe that Terrorsaur was actually allergic to them which is why he was so treacherous in particular.

I just started watching BW2 on YouTube because of MP Lio convoy. Kinda sparked my interest to see what the big deal with Lio is.

Thank you a million to the high quality picture & subtitles from Karyuudo Fansubs!!

Anyway 2 episodes in so far. It’s not really my cup of tea, but I’m going to keep going with it. At least 1 ep a day. So far it feels like the story is spinning its wheels in the mud. Plenty happening, it’s moving fast, but it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere.

I thought about starting a first time watch thread, but I tried that with Victory & didn’t make it far into that one either. So gonna watch a few more before I do that, at least.

I'm doing the same and feel exactly the same. I'm not sure whether it's encouraging me to buy Lio Convoy or putting me off!

Wait until you guys see the episode with the Seacons sailing the pirateship (that’s one of two episodes I checked out). You’ll know what the correct course of action is after watching that.

It’s always a relief, when I see it’s not just me feeling that way!!

I don’t like when shows have a narrator tell you what’s going on, especially when those lines could go to a character. And especially when a character repeats what the narrator tells us anyway!

The opening was edited to be confusing. Apache was in trouble, but then it cuts to some time after he’s returned from his mission & Lio is the one missing.
They do show how that all played out in episode 2’s flashback, but it would’ve generated more tension to have shown us that bit in episode 1. Show him crash land on Gaia and near death. Then restrict the flashback in ep 2 just the part where the lion rescues him.

Some other gripey narrative junk about the introduction of the Destrons & Autorollers, but basically it boils down to a lot of stuff happened, but the story didn’t feel like it went anywhere.

The original BW’s opening two-parter was rough around the edges, but not this rough!

I think the reward in this case is just something Scorponok would value, like Megatron's perceived favor or a title like second in command. In reality though all it means is do as he says and he won't beat the hell out of you for disobeying him. Megatron did have rare moments of "generosity" towards his minions though, like the time he explained to Inferno that Quickstrike was sent in first to attack the Maximal base because the Fuzor was more disposable.

Try Japanese based online vintage shops like Jungle Collectors Shop International or Mandarake? They usually have cheap, previously released TFs for sale and God Neptune has popped up afew times.
