Conversely, the recent reissue of Big Convoy in anime colors would already fit in perfectly with toy-colors Primal and Lioconvoy.

I’m also not sure what a MP would improve upon over the original toy.

I'd love to dig into the Transformers continuity as the Japanese see it.
From what I understand, to the Japanese, there is no separate continuities. No such thing as this show doesn't go with this show. To the Japanese, there is one continuity, one continuous story. It never stopped and rebooted, it just kept going. That's all of it, not just G1. All of it. Fascinating.

Yeah? I didn't know why that re-issue cost so much for such an old toy, and I do not know how it scales, I had thought a MP Big Convoy would be MP-10 size. I assumed the articulation is sub-par for my needs. So many things kept me from getting that, and hoping for an MP. Y'know what? I'm gonna go research that 1999 toy a little bit.

We made a joke about Moon and Artemis being accessories on Moonbase 2 last week

I want this toy more than I wanted Dinobot. And I reaaaaally want Dinobot.

Japan ran on pretty strict 20+ eps minimums at the time so BW S2 and 3 wee too short for them. So they held off airing them until s3 was done and merged them into one season called Metals.
BW II and Neo take place in the future/current Cybertron the Axalon and Darksyde come from. Gaia is future Earth and so forth. So they were complete free of right continuity. Only major kink was when Primal is brought forward in time in the movie.

So how tall is Lio in fiction? 3 meters? 5 meters? If Artemis is about 5 feet tall she's either going to be sizable (if LC is 3 meters) or small (if 5 meters).

The Japanese wiki gives a height of 3 meters for him.

I was looking for some size comparisons of Artemis and Moon on tfwiki to gage a relative size for her figure, if she is to scale, but only found this shot of her from Beast Wars Neo
    30C9C383-1C1D-43E5-B132-16EAD59F5546.jpeg

She’s not that much smaller than some of the Beastformers but it’s not the best angle to guess a height especially with the characters in sitting positions.

Of course since it's a female character, it's gotta have its knees and toes pointed inward and one hand out to the side...

Same here. Big convoy is a boss. I like pretty much all of the BWN designs, so doing any Japan exclusive BW designs is a great start.

Apparently this is how the vast majority of women in Japan stand and walk, with their feet pointed inward in a pidgeon toed stance. I've heard reasons ranging from it looking more feminine (being considered graceful and attractive), being a cultural trait passed down from mother to daughter, and the way they sit allegedly altering their leg bones, which apparently also causes bow-leggedness. It's also easier to walk wearing a kimono if your toes are pointed inward.

Only up to a point. Stuff like the Unicron Trilogy shows, Animated, Prime, and the Bayverse are all still separate continuities from G1 in Japan, although through the recent Legends comics there was a bit of crossing over to be had.

Which is sorta funny, considering how in the US Continuity, The Shrouding happened.
