Oh, now that's a twist I didn't expect. Could have waited for the reveal though. Well, my fault for watching. I'm just overly hyped for this that I NEED any little bit they'll feed me before launch.
Looks great, but I still have my concerns about everyone involved with the show saying they probably "need" another 1-2 seasons to tell their story. Some things were already starting to feel drawn out last season, so this better be nothing but home runs every episode. Hoping for the best!
Well, at the very least, the Duffers have said that they won't go beyond a fifth season. Just curious, but what felt drawn out to you last season? The only stuff for me that felt that way was the stuff with Eleven's "sister" as, at the time, aside from Eleven getting some growth it felt like it really didn't fit with the rest of the season's narrative. In retrospect it probably sets up for a future story arc for either season four or five.
That was my main issue last season. but stuff from that is supposed to come into play this season, so hopefully there is a pay off.
At least season 3 is back down to 8 episodes. That should decrease the odds of there being another episode like the lost sister one from last season. I haven’t watched any of the actual trailers for this yet, and I think I’ll keep it that way so I go in with a fresh perspective once again.
My only complaints with the last season was also present in the first season and that is the main cast seem to have crazy amounts of plot armour whilst countless unnamed characters get massacred. I love nearly every character so I don’t particularly want anyone to die but the tension dipped last season when the threat towards the main characters seemed impotent. I had already guessed the new host as he shared a needle with the main kid who was a host last time when they was attempting to treat the kid and had to use the same needle on that man to knock him out. I suspect he is spreading outside consciousness around the town like a sexually transmitted infection and that will give his womanising a sinister twist. I think this could be a strong season as they seem to be giving the whole cast something purposeful to do. Hopefully it lives up to its potential.
For me, it was nothing specific - just that feeling you sometimes get in general. I mean, not counting the now infamous Ep.7 - that WAS a complete dog shit waste of time. But overall, I thought it was indeed a very good season... but you could also tell things here & there were being padded for the sake of filling an episode and/or the season. It happens with all shows, so I'm not going to single out this one. I just hope that this next season is a little more consistently solid and doesn't kill some of the hype/excitement for the now inevitable 4th one is all.
Just finished watching the entire season (started as soon as it dropped at around 3 am locally) and boy was that a fun roller coaster ride! My initial thoughts are that it starts a little slow, but the individual plot threads start to merge together pretty quickly. About the only thing I felt unnecessarily slowed the plot was all the relationship whining in the beginning. I'm going to take a nap now as I stayed up awhile to binge this, but I'll probably post more in depth comments about this season later.
Nah, I honestly didn't know it even went up today. Just assumed it would go up tomorrow (Friday) like most of their new batches do.
Your missing out Got through the whole season. No bad filler this season, and over all they can still tell a good story. Spoiler But man I'm hoping they will give us a surprise with Hopper next season, I prefer they didn't end it this way and the Russians now have their own pet Demigorgon Hope Hop is the American they mention.
